Just like the rest of us. But accusing anyone of being pro CCC is then a contradiction.

All this talk about the Butts. Frankly I sense it's all smoke and mirrors. We will remain at the Ricoh for many reasons but here are a few...

1. WASP (ACL) need the cities football club with potentially large crowd drawing income streams and a nice rental income for years to come. Rather than lose them I suspect they will end up courting them with inducements, maybe a share of ownership eventually. See out the current owners first would be their goal.
2. CCFC can't at present afford to build a new stadium of it's own with a capacity to match it's potential. As a club we are too big for the Butts and the infrastructure is not there. Times have changed since HR folks. The peppercorn rent we pay now and any future rent will stay low as WASP need us. CCFC will wait till they can secure a share of ownership at the Ricoh at least, maybe when we have new owners with deeper pockets. The profile of the football club far exceeds the rugby club and both sides know it.
3. The council should do everyone a favour and keep their nose out at all times.

Smoke today the fire
Jon Sharp the Chairman/Owner of CRFC
is seeking to take ownership of the leases into his own one man company rather than that of the Club.

The rent will not stay as low as it is now, wasps will try to squeeze every penny they can from us. Yes they need us at the Ricoh, but given we would not survive another stint at Sixfields, Wasps hold the monopoly on football stadiums and all in all and it pains me to say it for the next 10 years at least, we need the Ricoh more than the Ricoh needs us.

Oh and there's no way wasps will offer us part ownership as an enticement to sign a rent deal...

The question is why? Looks like his stated plan to get Cov into Aviva Premiership has probably been thwarted by Wasps arrival.

We just need to tread water at the Ricoh for the moment.
I believe that once we get in the Championship and we are back on the radar other possibilities will present themselves.

Could be something like that NW
Crowds dropped off this year after significant squad expansion this season
Enough pressure to see Phil Maynard moved sideways to a non team role and Scott Morgan to head coach. @

i don't think we're off the radar as such but it's just a fact that no-one is going to be interested in a club with our debt levels regardless of whether we are close to breaking even or not.
I'm not convinced championship football would make us that much more attractive to people when considering the aditional investment levels required to compete in that league.
Our owners aren't private individuals like some other clubs e.g. Bolton where large debt will be written off to facilitate a sale.

It's a well known term that means no one other than CCFC fans are interested in us because we are at such a low level that we don't count.
Sponsors don't care because we have little coverage in national media or TV. Potential purchasers don't get the buzz out of a League One team so won't look at us. (82 words)

or...

Off the radar (3 words)

It's a business term used and accepted by highly intelligent individuals.

Italia posting cap yet again. That's why there seem to be weekly articles in the national press about us, djs talking about us on national stations and we signed Joe Cole.

We are still going to bring in more sponsorship and interest than an out of town London rugby club in Coventry.

Be nice if we did have a posting cap on here.

sorry based on what?
Rugby has a higher media profile (in particular TV coverage) than football outside the Premiership. More attractive to sponsors. Also rugby seems to have a different sponsorship base to football anyway.
My understanding was the Wasps corporate hospitality etc. was selling better than the football club's.
Which major employers/businesses in the Coventry area have significant sponsorship or financial relationships with the football club? WHy do we find it so difficult to even find a decent long-term shirt sponsor?

How does rugby have a higher profile? Most people aren't bothered about it and prefer football. Championship football is a lot more attractive and well known by the average man on the street.

Haha how many corporate tickets do the franchise sell then? How much are they raking in in ticket sales each month?

Yet again having to defend my football club on it own forum, weird.
