Funny how when another team shows more initiative then us, all of a sudden the players they get in are ether shit or out of our reach?

Would be a good point if either applied to the two players mentioned........think TM did not want them simple as that and he is
the manager....

Never forget our away support making half their attendance the other year.

Wasn't their huge outcry when we didn't sign Michael Higdon last year? Exactly the sort of player we need I believe was the expression?

Why on earth is Pope a player we want? Just because someone else signed him?

As for Clarke its a sign of his fallen status. Do you think Swindon Sheffield etc. are worried they've missed out on these two players? Perhaps they didn't want them. Perhaps we didn't.

I wouldn't have Pope here... not until he condones contraception.

Could be a decent signing by Chesterfield...

Striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake says he wants to "prove himself" again after signing a two-year deal with Chesterfield

It isn't all bad. Years ago I used to go past on the M1 frequently. Used to pull off as there was a good pub and kebab shop a few doors away.

But yes the rest is a shithole

How does Bury get round these financial fair play rules ? These players they are signing won't come cheap wages wise and i haven't checked but doubt their average gate despite their on the field success was higher than ours, unless Gigg Lane is a centre of entertainment nowadays where other than attendances does extra income come from ?

Apparently he's massively unfit now from his injuries, not like match sharpness unfit but he's massively overweight now.

They essentially got given their ground for nowt when the council bailed them out last time they were on the brink. Their new chairman has bunged a fair few quid of his own cash in and they got a sizable (by league 2 standards) sponsorship deal from JD Sports. They have also benefited from FC United's residence at Gigg Lane. They got a half decent rent from FC but also a lot of FC fans started going to Bury games as well.

Rochdale are my pet team up here in exile so i am therefore required to hate Bury's guts.

Of course the FC rent and income is finished now mind you. Seems like they're gambling to me.

True. Although i wouldn't be surprised if a number of supposed FC fans who live round that way cant be bothered trekking to the new ground and just go to Bury games instead.

Don't Bury also have Cameron and Hussey? Forming a bit of a City reject society.

When I wasn't watching Cov I got round all the grounds. There is always a game worth watching up there. I liked the Oldham fans wit and a good pint of OB bitter, as good an excuse as any.

I am spoiled for choice these days. The local amateur side play on a field literally at the end of my road so i nip down there most Sundays. Glossop North End are my nearest "proper" team and they have had an incredible season winning promotion and the NW counties cup, plus reaching the FA Vase final. Had a good laugh watching them this season.

I lived in Droylesdon and Stalybridge for a while so took in some non league games too. Then moved to Chadderton and got the Oldham bug.
