Took their chances very well, not the most skilful but did what was needed to win

I thought we gifted them there two goals both very poor defending. Some players like Lameries and Bigi are just not good enough.

Sat back nice and square waiting for the mistakes which we seem to make every week

Can see why they are top of the league, fair play to them But two fucking stupid goals to give away.

Only 4 points from second with 19 to play, could be worse.

People seem to forget we have a make-shift back four every week.

This week i've seen two sides who I believe are better than us. Just my opinion. Fair play to Burton today. We'll do very well to get top 2

I agree.

Walsall and Burton are the best sides in the lge with us and Wigan next best.

not sure why you think their fans were great, Top of the league but very quiet until they scored. Top of the league on merit though. Haven't got the quality of Gillingham or Walsall but well organised and very fit. .

They only sing when they are winning. It's easy to be vocal when you are 0-2 up, I was more impressed with our fans earlier this year belting it out when we've been behind... 'Don't worry...'

Burton are a very well organised side and keep their shape behind the ball often forcing us to pass backwards. They pass the ball well and know when to just hoof it. Always looked dangerous from corners and looked like they can defend them all day long.

Keeper looks solid.

Not much in it but I thought they shaded both halves. Their second goal was a great finish from a tight angle. Could have been three if not for the bar.

To be fair they outsung our fans today because they had something to sing about ...whereas

Brilliantly organised but didn't threaten us going forward aside from our two calamities. I can't imagine they'll last the whole season without a blip

But then people defending this makeshift back four, and the team, are the ones saying the auto's are still within reach?!

Not a chance at this rate, I'm afraid. That's just a realistic appraisal, not pessimism. We've made light years of progress under TM, however I think the play-offs is far more logical. Unfortunately.

Still, we have a few more players incoming team-wise, so let's see what impact they make.

Unless things change we have no chance, no.

That's two games against our rivals where we have been found out and had no change of game plan.

Tuesday we seemed to have the win in the bag, but just sat back and tried to hang on to the one goal lead.

Yesterday we were doing okay and a draw looked on the cards until we gifted them a goal. After that we were completely clueless.

Yesterday was the first time this season that it felt like last season under Pressley in that second half.

That's exactly what would have happened, doing okay, silly goal and then collapsing.

Burton were very well organised, solid in defence and midfield whilst their striker chased everything down, not enough pace at the back between ricketts and ramage for me. If they stay as organised as that and find an out and out goalscorer (may have found in Mason Bennett) then the league is there's, fair play to them. We are now crying out for a plan b to Murphy and Armstrong, both of whom seem are only serious goal threat. Murphy has a bad couple of games. Yes Maddison takes a good free kick but can't rely on that. Was kicked out of the game for the 1st ten minutes then didn't create as much as he usually does after that. 2 mistakes but we carry on, looking like it's going to be the play offs though.

I agree, my dear Groucho. I wasn't there, but I usually take your appraisals as gospel.

We still have to remember, despite how promising we've been at times this season, that TM is not a miracle worker. We've had glimpses of what this team is capable of when it's firing on all cylinders, it just seems that consistency and errors are our weaknesses.

Unless TM can get the absolute 100% limit from these players, and the new signings, we may have to begrudgingly pin our hopes on the play-offs. That in itself is actual progress, when you stand back and look at it.

Burton are a very solid effective team. JFH did a good job there and the fact that he's gone and the team are continuing in the same vain shows exactly what a good job he did.

It started before JFH to be fair, and Clough is another good appointment to keep the momentum going.
