I already have a ST, but wondered if the match package thing might help with this. Went on the CCFC site, and it referred to match package info for 22/23 information to be released soon (or words to that effect). Not sure why they don't sell them at the moment as it's a win/win for club/supporter.

Surely ticket cost is peanuts. How many tickets are sold? Less than 10k definitely, say 5k on average?

So £1 difference on the ticket gives you about £100k over the season assuming no change in numbers (which there will be at some point).

Seems to me you’re better off taking the hit and hoping to make it back from ancillary purchases and future ST sales. Even knocking a tenner off would only cost us just over a million and that’s assuming no increase in take up.

His red card was for violent which is a 3 game ban, plus an additional 1 game ban for his second red of the season. A second yellow is still a red card.

Indeed.

We all remember
That shank by Haynes
When Burge ran into Davies and fell on the floor
And Grendel screaming

Burnley have a good team, but as their results have proven we shouldn’t be fearful.

Even without COH and Hamer (ish) we’re good enough to compete. However something needs to change with the attack. It’s either swap Waghorn or Walker for Godden as a straight swap, play Waghorn at 10 in a box, or Allen forward in the box with Eccles coming in.

Personally I’d do the first option, Waghorn has looked decent in his limited time this season, but he didn’t look positionally sound playing 10, and I’m not sure him and Palmer would compliment, so up top with Vik would be my vote.

Rest of the team remains as is, suggestions of Rose are absolutely crazy. Similarly with Kane as Dabo seems to be finding some sort of form (finally).

Looking forward to the atmosphere tomorrow and despite being 10 games in, I have that start of the season excitement due to the fact we’ve had limited home games.

1-0, Gyokeres.

I think you are referencing my comment on Sheaf with duels/tackles. Per 90, he's attempting slightly fewer passes (52.4 v 57.5), at a slightly lower accuracy (79% to 83%). He is making slightly more passes in the attacking half (25 to 24) and playing more progressive passes (as a % of total passes) which might explain somewhat why he might be deemed to be giving the ball away more (that said it is by a fairly immaterial amount).
My perception on Sheaf is he slows down the pace of play a fair bit as he chooses his pass which gives defences time to find their man etc. Its only normally a second or two but I do think it's something in his game to improve. I can kinda give some slack for the odd astray pass, it happens right. On his day he's a great player for us but like all the other players have stuff to work on.

I'd take Godden out the firing line today probably for Waghorn. Godden generally wants the chance on a plate and he isn't getting much service at the mo. I can't see a world where you'd drop Gyok so Waghorn to feed Gyok seems a sensible change. Maybe bring Godden on 2nd half see if he can get on the ball more with legs tiring.

All of our players give the ball away but for some reason Sheaf is held to higher standards - if he didn’t ever give the ball away, I doubt he’d be playing in the Championship.

I believe that Sheaf often finds himself with a lack of options and if a pass isn't on he won't speculate which makes it look like he's holding on to the ball a little too long especially when Hamer isn't along side him.

Completely agree. Hamer is one of the worst in the team at giving the ball away in poor areas but he lauded as being 'brave'. Sheaf is one of our best players, yet people are straight on him every time.

There's reasons why he may be attempting less passes or holding on the ball for too long and slowing play down. A few of these

- we have conceded possession playing more on the counter.
- Hamer has been suspended for most of the season meaning he has Allen next to him who doesn't show as much for the ball giving less optio s
- we play 2 up top and not the box, again less options in midfield meaning if he hasn't got an option he will hold on a bit longer to keep possession
- we have been going more direct.
- not only are we playing 2 up top, Godden offers nothing to general play so you're effectively playing with 10 men until the ball gets in the box.

But its all sheafs fault.

He does exactly what he's supposed to do. If the pass is on he plays it, if not he ensures we retain possession rather than forcing it like Hamer or just lumping it aimlessly like Kelly.

As a combination of 3 we simply have the best 3 best midfielders in the league imo. So different wouldnt swap them.

Ohare, Hamer and Sheaf. Ballers!

Yep, this is very very good and spot on.

Players like Sheaf in some ways will be determined by the ability of others around them, if they have no options what are they supposed to do.

Hamer is lauded by fickle fans who love a Hollywood ball, which overshadows the missed passes, bad decisions and the fact he turns up one in four games.

Sheaf is class, every team needs a player who retains possession and keeps the ball moving.

Despite my frustrations with Hamer, a midfield of

Sheaf Hamer
COH Palmer

Is a strong footballing four capable of dominating most in this league.

Would love to see that 4 play in box formation with gyok upfront. I hope it's the plan and not just to alternate Palmer as impact sub for o hare

Hamer Sheaf Palmer and O’hare is a combination which oozes quality. Then Gyokeres up top its almost good enough to win the league, but then we look at the defense and depth we have and then get brought back down to earth

No chance, defence definitely needs improvements the only 2 I can see in a top Championship team are Doyle and Bidwell

If you’re dropping Godden then you need to find 15-20 goals from midfield, which looking at the options is an unrealistic task

MR might be looking to hit Burnley hard and early, similar to Millwall, but yes, let’s try not to drop an almighty clanger and change the flow of the game against us, boys.

If we hit them early, who knows, we could stifle the crap out of them and cling precariously to a 2-1 or a 2-0 lead. PUSB. ⚽️

3 points today would be massive. Could bring us off bottom but would definitely put us not a couple behind a load of teams with those games in hand.

Draw good result today as they will be at least playoffs but I think we don't have much to fear as long as we get tight and harass them early.
