If it was there wasn't much consistency, the Lincoln players were constantly in the refs face.

I didn't even think it was a foul, let alone a booking.

What does it matter if they were? A player/players who say something to the Ref isn’t an automatic caution for dissent. Nothing wrong on appealing or having an opinion that you don’t agree with a decision if it’s not BLATANT dissent of course.

No but surely getting in the refs face counts as dissent? Am on about when they would run up to him.

Again, it’s not. If it’s blatantly shouting about a decision then yes.

It begs the question, why doesn't every team surround the ref in his face to pressure him for every decision?

I recall Man U did this relentlessly under Fergie. I wonder why referees back off and let groups of players then follow him. It's time that referees simply stood their ground, literally, and then sent of any player who so much as touches them.

Maybe that may influence a weaker ref on the odd occasion. Seasoned refs not likely at all.

This wouldn't have gone a miss.

Granted a red card but at 4-2 down the fans would have loved it and could have sent on a fringe player with the remaining sub.

Added bonus, they can do throw ins.

Haha that will be the day. Oh I fully agree with you,but if a ref did that he would not be backed and would never ref again.
