Looking to book a trip away with the kids, something with a pool and slides close to a beach. Basic stuff but everything is so bloody pricey in the school holidays, We are totally tied to them as the wife works in the education system.

Noticed that Bulgaria is way cheaper than most other destinations. Anyone had any experience in that part of the world?

Went there in 2015 to the Ozbor resort. Really nice, food, weather was great - and our resort was on yet outskirts of a lovely town. Would highly recommend personally.

Stayed between Varna and Burgas very cheap and hot just hope Putin doesn’t decide he wants Bulgaria as well.

No land borders so should be ok!

I went to Sunny beach in 1989. A cheap hellhole back then. We stayed in a high rise tower block that was actually on the beach. One of only two hotels as I remember. Nowhere to eat beyond what the hotels offered. Local people queuing for bread and milk at the only shop for miles each morning and by 11am they'd run out . I've heard it's moved on a bit since then and is completely transformed . I hope so.

No but I've only heard good reports from people who have.
Deffo on my short list in the near future.

Don’t know about the coast but Sofia as a city visit is a must.
Stunning city, good food and beer and some great places to visit.
