An article from FL World saying Blackburn have bid £1.75 mil for the forward. Not sure how accurate they are. What did we pay for him? If we get our money back is it worth it to help with the rebuild? Meant to put a question mark at the end of the thread heading!

Happy for him to go. Needs 17 shots to hit the post, let alone score. Silly unneeded signing

Is it worth the reported £500k loss?

I doubt we’ve paid the reported fee in full.

Neither would Blackburn. We would be taking a sizeable loss on a player after 25 games.

Is this the same BTA that most were all over when we were rumoured to be signing him?

There’s a player in there Im just not sure if we’re gonna see it due to having Simms and Bassette already and Haji coming back from injury.
I think we signed him under the impression we couldnt get Bassette then were told its now or never for Bassette after we signed BTA and just took the chance.
If he were to go Im sure he’d do well as he is a good player and proven at this level, and we should be able to recoup what we signed him for (£2.25m)

I'd probably look at it from a net return perspective rather by every individual player sold.

Any losses incurred from BTA sale will for instance be made up from the profit of Latibeadiere being moved on.

Some players will be sold for more than what was initially paid, some less.

Hopefully we can push for more from Blackburn though. It's a sellers market after all and there are few options available in this window.

Most weren't all over. A good number were more than concerned by his scoring record

If we can get Blackburn to cover the £2.25 we paid, I’d absolutely take it. He just doesn’t fit into our team at all.

Typically he'll start banging them in for rovers if he goes

Thankfully, he's clearly nowhere near good enough for that. But it wouldn't shock me if he replicates his previous numbers at WBA at his next club.

He's just not the right fit for us and an unnecessary overhead with Bassette featuring regularly.

Well yes, getting his wages off the books will help towards a new signing.

I always liked the look of him when he played against us, and I was chuffed when he signed, just hasn't worked out so far

Sometimes players flourish at other clubs, after failing elsewhere.

We've obviously had it ourselves and with David McGoldrick, we had the complete opposite. Known as McGoal Drought at Forest, they couldn't wait to get rid of him.

If BTA goes, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if he did really well elsewhere.

He's obviously struggled here and must be bereft of confidence, after having missed a number of great chances lately.

I refuse to say he's crap. It's just not worked for us here and he has been poor as a result.

Remember when everyone said that EMC was a waste of money and of only L1 standard?

Hopefully, if BTA does go, we can replace him with someone who will improve us and will make a much more positive impact at the club

Funny reading back posts congratulating the recruitment team on a brilliant job and talking about him being exactly what we need.

Recruiting players must be a lot easier with the benefit of hindsight.

Regardless how he is rated this would be a bad bit of business at that price.
I believe we paid £2.2ish million for him and at this bid price we would lose £500k - can’t see DK sanctioning that!
Maybe if we got our money back he might be allowed to leave - can’t see the “Hyam robbers” pulling our pants down on Doug’s watch!

If we did get a player called Hindsight at the club here, I would make him captain for sure

Also
Something is up - clubs don’t make surprise bids for a player another club has only just signed unless they’ve “heard something”.
Maybe rumours have been leaked the he is not happy.

More likely to be his agent knowing he doesn't fit in here and is looking for a new club for him.

Don't know about not happy but he's certainly surplus to requirements when everyone's fit

It's only the first reported bid. There's potential to press for more.

Also, the club wouldn't necessarily lose £500k. There's also saving on his wages to factor in. You would've thought he's on around £750k a year at a rough guess.

Obviously a replacement which can cover RW and centrally would be needed but I wouldn't have thought they would been given a similar sized contract given the role they'll be asked to play.

Can't believe Blackburn want to sign him. Don't think he's good enough for this league, certainly not for a club chasing promotion.
