hello everyone.

I am writing this post to see if anyone is interested in contributing to my dad's 70th birthday present.
Kingy turns 70 on the 18th April.
I have set up a special email address kingyis70@gmail.com
And maybe you would like to send to this address a 15-20 second video with a birthday message. If you don't want to do a video a selfie holding a message is fine too.
It's my plan to cut together all the messages for him to watch when he is next in the UK on the 20th April.
Also if you have any pictures or footage you could please email that too.
I do have a deadline 6th April to give me time to put it together.
Thank you for your time and I hope some of you will want to take part

It is a shame but is just too early. He comes over from Norway and the timing needs to be close to his birthday

Good goalkeeper Bryan King especially at Millwall unfortunately got off to a poor start here made a few mistakes one on his debut at home to Middlesbrough if my memory is correct which cost us points subsequently was never really a fans favourite. I liked him though.

Poor guy that people remember a goalkeeping mistake from over 40 years ago. It's all very well here, but I feel sorry already for the abuse poor RCC and Burge's grandchildren are going to receive when they post a similar request

I was a bit young when we signed him but I think it was a big signing at the time. He had been close to an England call up and was very highly rated.

I may be wrong but I believe he sustained an injury didn't he (back?) and he ended up only staying for a season or so.

I really think you would need to go to the Millwall fans
never established at HR, and further we never referred to him as Kingy

sorry
We had some good keepers in the top flight, but maybe due to injuries etc your dad wasnt one of them
that said even at 70 he could probably get a game in our team now

Yes as has been said he was blighted by injury but I remember his debut V Everton at Goodison and a 4-1 win with a David Cross hat trick. We didn't expect that result on the way up, we were expecting a drubbing as we were so poor the previous season.

I thought he had problems with his knee. Seem to remember him playing most games with it strapped.
Wasn't it Jim Blyth who had the dodgy back. Think it cost him a move to Man United.

Good quiz question that - which CCFC player scored a hat trick in the first and last game of the same season.

I seem to remember one of our players injuring a knee when his garage door fell on it and never played again could of been King or Chris Chilton, definitely one of them

The idea's a cracking one, and am sure your Dad'll love it.

Before my time, mind, so I can't contribute and yeah, from what I know you'll probably get more from Millwall anyway.

I am intrigued how he ended up in Norway, mind?
