personally I would prefer it this Saturday.
brazil arnt in a great run of form, have several injuries still and have nothing to play for now.
we are on a good run with our tails up and would go into the game full of confidence instead of having a forced break where we could start slow again and Bristl have their tails up because of a cup win and playing a prem team the next round Whilst getting some of their injured players back

Vale have shown a bit more fight in recent weeks, but are still going to go down. I can see them going for it tomorrow.

For me Saturday, because I'll be going.
But for the title race, I think 17th would be better.

This Saturday, please. We don't need fixture congestion.

Ive booked a premier inn for both dates but the Tuesday night is a pain in the arse. From both a team and personal view Id prefer a Saturday and a far better away day

Let's hope that remains the case in the World Cup!

Hopefully Vale kick lumps out of them and take through to penalties but ultimately loose so we play Bristol on Saturday. Their pitch looks like something from the 70's so there will certainly be some tired legs at the weekend

I've bought a ticket, but can't go Saturday, so I'm relying on it being moved to the Tuesday (when I can go) Personally. I think it will be to our advantage if the game is moved.

There is a solid argument for the positives and negatives of both

If the game is moved I shan't whinge at the lads having an 11 day rest before successive home matches

What does annoy me is I think it is a bit of a piss take our fans are going to have to sort travel arrangements out and our players and staff do not know whether they are prepping for a game or not until late Tuesday night, they wouldn't keep Man City or Liverpool on tenterhooks like that

Wouldn't be surprised if Vale win, Bristol City won't want to risk injuries as they have still have a chance of finishing in the play offs, Port Vale look like they're already relegated

I believe there’s another international break towards the end of March. So having this game postponed may work against us in terms of fixture congestion as well as picking u 3 points against a tired opponent showing indifferent form.

Rather play it now while we’ve got momentum than give us a ten day break tbh

Tuesday for two reasons.

1) I can't make Saturday
2) worried about Onyeka, a longer recovery time can only be good for him and he is vital to us.

Yes this for me.

If Onyeka isnt fit for Saturday, I'd rather have the extended break.

Saturday for me for 2 reasons
1. Good chance of 3 points, Bristol not performing well at the moment, and keeps us ahead of the pack
2. It's my lads 26th birthday on the 6th so Saturday game becomes bigger than usual away piss up

I don't remember many happy times at Ashton Gate down the years. + Bristol City are a strange old team, and wildy inconsistent, a bit like Watford. If they lose to Vale tomorrow night, there will be a reaction, and with the League Leaders visiting they'll be fired up.
If they win at Vale, their intensisty will be less. I presume being the 4th round they will play a strong team at Vale
I think a rearranged game may be better for us + always had a soft spot for The Vale

Hopefully it's Saturday. They've got quite a few injuries at the moment and will play Port Vale on an absolutely awful pitch which will take a lot out of them.

Remember when we were basically relegated there over Easter in 2012, the true definition of a 6 pointer as Bristol were the side we were in direct competition with - Pissed it down all day, surrendered a 1 goal lead lost 3-1 and relegation was all but confirmed

Gyokeres last minute winner a few seasons ago was a good night though

Initially thought not Saturday to reset and go again after 4 wins on the spin

However if onyeka is ok and they lose after extra time and penalties then Saturday may well be perfect

Vale haven't actually been that bad since they got their new manager in, too little too late to keep them up probs but on a rubbish pitch if Bristol City put half a side out you never know

Found this article re 1977 game.

Sunderland, Coventry, Bristol City: Half a century on a peculiar grudge lingers

Three of the Championship play-off teams have a history, which explains why Jimmy Hill's name may echo around Coventry's away end tonight

It is genuinely pathetic from them lot and for a so called big club unbelievably small time

Would be like us refusing to accept a German player cause of The Blitz

At both of those and prior to that 77-78 game when we thought UEFA qualification was likely after getting a draw on last game of season.

Better to play on a Saturday rather than midweek as more chance of winning in a daylight game.

Sorry to disappoint but I've watched a lot of PV games this season to see Shippers and they're absolutely gash. I know it's the cup and all that, but even BC 2nd string will smash them tomorrow so the game will be Tuesday 17th.

I was at the one too (didn’t Wallace score?). Remember it being brutal outside when game finished.
