Problem is, a lot of pubs we usually go don't open until 12.

12.30 kick offs must have a significant impact on the local pubs Saturday takings. I guess some fans may go back to a pub afterwards but I’d like to bet turnover is higher for a proper 3pm start.

I went to the Bristol beer factory last week which is just a 10 min walk up north street from the away end a good selection of real ales lagers and ciders brewed locally,I recommend the North street cider!!

Absolutely, said it before and I’ll say it again, I really detest stupid 12.30 kick offs. Football should be about a relaxing Saturday morning, time to travel, a good brunch with a few beers and then the match. In the old days that then meant back home for a shower and change, quick snack, catch up with the other scores and then out on the town for the night.
Its bad enough for home games this nonsense but fuck early kick offs away as well, just so we can be shown on some awful quality single camera crap production

It also impacts Friday nights ….

I prefer away games earlier. We'll go to Macs for Breakfast on Saturday and then head down. Looking forward to this. Was at the cup game last week too, so hoping for another win.

Yeah we went here last year before and after and really liked it.

All the trains were fucked last year due to the floods so our already long train down from Manchester took something like 6 hours and via Reading, so we jumped in a taxi from Temple meads to this place (as it looked closest) and then the ground. And then similar back as we didn't want to risk not getting home. So going to try and do a few more this time, North Street bottom to top looks best bet

Don’t mind the 12:30 KO’s at all. Certainly better than Friday night, Saturday evening or Sunday!

Not everybody is there to drown in alcohol or have the shittest breakfast known to man.

For home games, I love Friday night KOs. 12:30 is not ideal for someone who likes a lie in. On this occasion, Bristol (A) on the train is quicker than driving to Coventry for me.

I was on the rattler last year and thought I wasn't going to make it at one point

Had to go Tamworth to New St, New St walk over to Snow Hill, Snow Hill to Worcester, Worcester to Bristol

Fucking nightmare of a day, pissed it down constantly and we got beat

Local(ish) one for me. Gonna stay over the night before. We might check out the Tobacco Factory on the Friday night which seemed good the last time we went.
Im a big fan of Bristol. Plenty to do and I like the vibe of the place.

Strong disagree I like Friday nights particularly at home! In a city like Cov I do think a Friday night game where a lot of people are coming out of the factories, straight to the pub and to the match, excited for the start of the weekend and a couple of days off makes for the best atmosphere of the lot

Cannot stand 12.30s - I am up at the crack of dawn most mornings for work, 12.30 kick offs are just another (needlessly) early morning and a load of rushing around if it's an away match

I dont mind 12:30s too much, means I'm up stupidly early but it is what it is. Friday nights are more of a pain because I normally can't get home after and have to stay over somewhere (hull away last season) but they're normally a good atmosphere. Sundays are the ones I would hate, love watching the prem games on TV but having to travel home in the winter after a loss on a Sunday evening must be horrific.

Friday night games are great, frees up the whole weekend. Unless you don't live near the city, in which case it's probably a nightmare to have to rush over in commuter traffic after work.

Coventry is shit for coffee, the midlands in general has a problem with coffee. We're big on R&D now, so probably people coming out of labs.

Cov and the surrounding areas are working class places where a lot of people work in manufacturing (absolutely nothing wrong with that)

Staying in Hull I wouldn't normally recommend but you got it right choosing this last year. Road closures everywhere and a fekkin nightmare to get home!

Agreed. It’s usually a 1.5 hour drive back home for me to Coventry that took 2 hours despite leaving at 13:30 on Friday!

Last Friday was a rush, also didn’t get home until around 0130. But it does then leave Saturday completely free

I have often gone directly from the lab to the game, bit of a trek across from basically opposite side of the city though.

Driving to away games then 12.30pm kick off is spot on. On the piss, dreadful. With the PL starting last weekend, I still just can't see the point in having 3 12.30pm games against a PL game. It makes zero sense, unless they are just buttering us up for a complete switch to 12.30pm for the Championship, which I feel is on the cards.
