Doesn't It .

http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sp...coventry-city-players-contracts-under-7113439

Worth noting Wilson Adams and Fleck could all leave for Tribunal fees at the end of the coming season.

Hasn't Wilson extended further than the current season?

Has the option of an extension.

Adams
Webster
Fleck
Baker
Barton
Seaborne
Willis (+1)
Wilson (+1)
J Clarke (+1)

All up end of next season (unless I've missed a renewal).

Edit: (+1) means they have an optional year (I assume it's up to the club, not the player).

3 year contract
In the summer if he hasn't played 15 games he has a release clause ( decided by himself)
If he doesn't invoke it the 2 remaining years kick in.

That's a rumour not a source.

edit: Just curious if it's someone reliable or a rumour. Don't have to tell me who exactly.

Reliable on four other things so far.
Predicted the three year contract bit a weekend before it came out.
I have no reason to doubt and to be honest the clause makes total sense

Interesting. The guy who posts about Cov Youth on here seemed to suggest Burge was looking close to a first team place, then backed off it.

Has Murphy been offered a contract yet? Would certainly cut the wage bill a far bit I'd imagine to replace him with a kid. To be fair, if he's good enough I've got no problem with it. But why would the club arrange a contract like you suggest if they didn't expect him to be playing?

My gut feeling is that the club know that what they offer Murphy will be substantially lower than his current wages. Hence the need to tie up Burge ASAP. Then hope no one offers Murphy anything better.

Has any more senior players been signed up yet? Are they going to be before June 14th?

I think it's pretty obvious Moussa and Christie aren't going to sign a new deal. Normal practice under Fisher has been to wait until the start of the new season to get players in their last year signed up. Expect anyone who is going to stay to be signed by Christmas if previous seasons are to go by, anyone else will go for free.

I expect to see Fleck offered a new deal in August, maybe Seaborne, the rest will go (Barton, Baker, Adams, Webster - though he might get a coaching role/another year). The Coventry lads (Willis/Clarke/Wilson) will get the 1 year extension then we'll play the same game next year.

Actually, I could see Pressley cashing in on Wilson if he's promised the cash to spend. We're seriously short all over the pitch in terms of experience/backup and I'm not sure whatever's left of Clarke's fee will cover the rebuilding required if we're going to move forwards not backwards next year.

I do not think that will be SP's decision if we get a decent offer for Wilson.
You do not think they would try and secure Adams?

Maybe, but we've got Haynes, Willis and Clarke (at a pinch) and probably someone else we've not heard of, coming through and the strategy seems to be to bring through youth where possible (hence why I think Murphy will go, and why I think they don't mind Christie going). Also, he was out of favour at the end of the season wasn't he?

Slightly concerned that we've never really brought through decent forward thinking players, even McSheffrey blew seriously hot and cold and was only really quality for a couple of seasons. Players like Wilson come through our ranks once in a blue moon. None of the others have looked even as good as the likes of Thornton or Liam Davis(?), and look where they are now.

That said, we have found some gems in the transfer market in that area in recent years (Moussa, Clarke, McGoldrick, King, Petrasso) we just can't keep hold of them.

We found King in prison not the transfer market.

Now now, you seem a little tense. Have a camomile tea. I find that always helps.
