Bring in C Thomas for Crawley (1 Viewer)

I really think we lack his energy in midfield, yes he isn't the greatest on the ball, however he runs and runs, wins lots of second ball and would be well up for it with so much to prove. He a player that always gives 100%

We need a bit more aggression and he gives a lot more than Barton (who is not mentally strong enough for pro football)

I would also drop Nouble and never allow him to wear Sky blue again....

I would agree, and Tudgay.

I was going to mention this on the Crawley thread. Trouble is he was injured in the warm up on Saturday, so I would say he would be a doubt. Certainly a stonger midfielder than Adam Barton, with a much better engine.

He has to change it on Sunday although not too much that it's detrimental given that we have been fairly settled in recent weeks. The 11 who performed so woefully should all be fearing the axe!

I would personally like to see Turgott given a start in place of Nouble; drop him to the bench and see if it gives him a kick up the arse to come on and prove a point later in the game if required.

It's such a shame that we can't replace Burge, he is the one I'm most concerned about. He comes across as a scared little boy devoid of any confidence which on Sunday isn't what we need. His flaps and dodgy kicking will probably have an impact on the result but his lack of urgency in taking goal kicks may help us to run down the clock.

Conor Thomas isn't the answer for me. His confidence must be shot to pieces and I can't remember the last time he started a game! Ward and Fleck should do a job, flanked by JOB and Turgott and I'd try Jackson up top with Big Nick (he did say he was going to score the goals to keep us up after all!).

Defence wise, I'm not sure he can change too much. Hopefully Pennington will recover to play alongside Reda with Phillips and Stokes either side.

This game is absolutely huge. I can't actually concentrate at work because it's playing on my mind!

After Bartons performance (or non performance as it was) I think Even I would call for Thomas to be brought in, and I think that speaks volumes!

That said, as Otis mentions, he pulled out of the warm up on Saturday so must still be carrying a knock, can't afford to play players who aren't up for he challenge physically. And as SBPM2 says his confidence is probably shot given that at the start of the season he was so in favour and now he can only just about make the bench.

Thomas is a good shout does the dirty work that people forget about as it isn't glamorous or running with the ball, he breaks up the play and never stops running, give him a go, cov kid after all so hopefully would mean alot more to him.

I leave out Nouble and Barton, and bring in Willis push Phillips forward and Tudgay.

I really think we have to score on Sunday so can't see how Nouble can play, I would also tell Fleck that he has to play further up the pitch and if he is lazing around with the centre halves after 20 mins take him off.

Yup! Grant Ward is prefectly capable of playing that defensive midfield holding role without having Fleck come over to come and hold his hand too.

Fair to say he has been out of the first team long enough for people to forget how ineffective he is.

Thing is we are now in a situation of degrees of ineffectiveness. Which player is less ineffective than another, in a team of ineffective feebleness.

Yep, player of the season is who was least worse in the squad.

Before we got Ward was mystified how Barton was ahead of him....however now we have Ward in I think we probably have to persist with Fleck and Ward in the centre.
However if Fleck does not push up get Thomas on and shove Ward further forward. Hoping Thomas in fit to give us an option from the bench tbh,

Tudguy should start for one of the forwards take your pick really!!
