We're All Going To Brighton

Brighton promoted back to the Championship
Coventry City supporters can look forward to a trip to the seaside next season when Brighton and Hove Albion booked their place in the Championship for next season.

Brighton who will be in a new stadium at Falmer next season ,tonight twice came from behind to beat Dagenham & Redbridge 4-3 and secure a return to the division they departed five years ago.

As to who will be joining them in the Championship, that is still very much open with Southampton, Huddersfield, Peterborough, MK Dons, Rochdale, Bournemouth and Leyton Orient all within a shout of automatic promotion or a play-off place

Good luck to them too. A club thta's been through a lot and had real problems getting their ground. Faced extinction and seen some tough times, always a decent family club. Be a nice new place to visit too.

Agreed when the fixture list come's out we should look for "Brighton away" and organise a fan's day out and try to pack out their away end!

i believe the capacity is 22,000. Do clubs still need to give a certain % over to away fans i wonder? 3-4k would be quality!!

I really hope we play them away in the summer, will be a great day out! My mate was saying imagine if Blackpool came back down too and we bot both Brighton and Blackpool away in the summer, that'd be top!

I think it's 10% for league matches and 15% for cup games.

Since my post I've been thinking about this 'Pink' thing. If we could co-ordinate it right, then we could get some real positive press out of this one and aid a good cause.

It would be a laugh because Brighton are really touchy about their 'gay-boy' tag, but if we all did it for something like breast cancer (the pink charity) then we could get some positive press for the club and all have a good day to boot.

I was thinking of a pink shirt or scarf, but if you're comfortable with your own sexuality then you go for it mate

I'd happily pick up a cheap pink t-shirt for that! I've got a pink headband and sweatbands left over from my 5-a-side kit too ;p

Duno how exactly you'd make it for charity tho!

Just think if Blackpool come down and with Brighton and maybe Bouremouth coming up through play-offs, and we get all these away in the last month of the season, then many away skybluers will have one heck of a suntan.

Just get sponsorship liek the ladies do for their walk/run day. Obviously there would be an element of trust and ity would need someone to co-ordinate, but it woudl be nice to get one of those big cheques to presnt on the pitch. I'm sure we could get the directors to round up/match what's raised. We'll wait for the fixture list but I'd be happy to get involved if tehy wanted my input.

Can't be any worse than their athletics ground.

Can remember going down for the Cup game in early January a few years and it being fucking freezing and to round it all off I was taking a piss when Macca scored the only goal early in the 2nd half.

To this day I still haven't seen that goal.

They said on The Football League Show this week that Brighton have already sold 16,000 season tickets for next season! That's pretty scary..I guess that makes them a much bigger club than us now.

Can't wait for this tie next season. Should be a good 2 days/ weekend away (that's if the weathers good). The sky blue, or pink as has been suggested, should floor brighton pier.

Greetings. Brighton fan here, still buzzing.

I think the idea of a co-ordinated charity 'pink day' at the new stadium is absolutely brilliant. One thing we are NOT is touchy about our 'gay' status, and if it could be sorted, I see no reason why we couldn't join in.

Just as a catch-up...

The away end allocation is a smite over 2,500 (about 3,300 for Cup matches).

The away end concourse is to be decorated / illuminated in the colours of the away team (sky blue in your case obviously), together with imagery of past heroes of that club (Ernie Hunt, Keith Houchen etc). However, if you're organising a pink day...

For real ale drinkers, as well as the gassy lager (no, ta), two local brews (Harvey's, Dark Star) will be on sale at the ground, plus an ale from the area where the away team is visiting.

All seats are padded - standard seats are the same spec as the luxury seats at the Olympic stadium. Well, this is Brighton...

Oh, and we definitely WON'T be having that god-awful music after scoring a goal.

Is this football as we know it...? That's another debate. Whatever, looking forward to seeing you down here next season.

Cheers, Al

No. Not the seats, the lighting and hues in the concourse.
