Brighton Highlights (1 Viewer)

We all know the result means nothing and its all about getting minutes into legs and finding a level of fitness and blah blah blah

But it would be nice if one of our strikers could find the net at least once before the season starts, just to give them some confidence etc.

Looks like Ayari had a point to prove. Where was this player when we had him on loan? Kitching and Bidwell didn't look great in those highlights. Simms is still afraid to take his man on.

I think we played well enough judging from those highlights, I still think we need a better striker and centre-back though.

Just don’t feel confident going into the season with only Wright or Simms as the main striker, and if Wright starts as striker most games it means we have less depth on the left. We’re going to get injuries and if that happens to either Simms, Wright or EMC it means we’re stuck with playing one of those two almost every week with basically no backup options.

What point did Ayari have to prove. He played 34 times for Brighton last season and scored two goals. Im sure he has lost no sleep over his loan at Coventry.

That’s not how human mind works though is it.

He will have enjoyed that moment and I don’t blame him.

The highlights are brief but I thought we had some decent moments. Brighton have played a few friendlies as well so not like they are weeks behind us. Brighton are a very good side.

I haven’t followed his progress at all since he left us. Didn’t realize he’s played that many games for them.

I think his loan here was cut short and then he was loaned out again to Blackburn the same season. Expectations were high, but he wasn’t the player he is now. Scored 1 goal and created another if I remember correctly. Apart from that I think he didn’t make much of an impact. Think he started a match against Ipswich and was subbed off at halftime as he wasn’t playing well.

To be fair he was playing under Robins and as much as I liked the guy he did come over as bloody stubborn probably what ended the Adie partnership

it was evident he had potential though.

OK, so anybody still in doubt of how the outcome of a match up of a near full strength c’ship top six potential side versus a weakened mid table p’ship side encounter would look like, look away now.

Have we actually scored a pre-season goal yet?

And people comment on the own goal but if the defender hadn’t put it in, EMC would have.

Also it was a good ball in. When defenders have to play a ball facing their own goal it often results in an own goal. It came about from good attacking play. It wasn't like it was a bad back pass that beat the keeper when they weren't under pressure. Like you say EMC was there. Nothing not to like about that goal
