On trial with Portsmouth along with Izale McLeod, Lloyd Sam and Simon Gillett. How the f*ck can they afford them?

If he really is on trial there unless he is a pompey man (born and bred). Then we need to act quick and sort that out.

Mcleod has scored nearly a goal every second game in league 2 and Lloyd Sam is a handful

Lloyd Sam is someone we should be looking at.

It's all about the wages. Portsmouth are probably offering a lot more than we have.

That is so wrong as they are one of the few clubs out there in even a bigger financial mess than us.

At least we have an owner who is funding the debts. Who the bloody hell is funding those wages.

They start next season 10 points a drift as well. You would think Brian Howard would want to be part of a team that can win the league. If that is the case then money really is everything.......

They should be signing 8 instead then of less quality for half the wages muppets. They did this last season and it screwed them, they never seem to learn

ah it seems he is from that way. Makes a bit more sense now. I will get off my high horse. He is going home. Wont knock him for that. Although he could still give another 2 years before doing that.

They can't afford them; but that has never stopped them in the past, has it?

Really? I am shocked. Personally, I always choose my next job based on the colour of the company's logo. Money doesn't enter into it.

Think as a footballer it is slightly different. Money is one factor but a lot of footballers also consider chances of achieving success as well.

If one club is offering slightly more but you are unlikely to achieve any success with them, a player may give consideration to the club offering the best chance of success. If that player is driven by being succesful as well as making money. You will find they will choose the club offering slightly less.

However here I imagine Brian Howard will be getting slightly less money at Portsmouth then he possibly could make at a championship club and he will be driven by coming home.

So shock horror, money is not everything.

Enjoy your logo's

few Leeds fans have told me Lloyd Sam is overrated and a waste of a squad number, so on that note, no tar

a) They're on trial meaning they haven't signed
b) The rumour Pompey's end is they are using this trial as a way to get match fit to secure a move elsewhere. The trialists have paid their way for most of the tour.
c) Pompey cannot sign them whilst under a transfer embargo

Portsmouth are in an absolute mess and its only going to get worse.

Looking forward to Appleton stating how they are "Victims" again. How about all the local businesses they fooked over???

Pompey are one club who month by month I am getting a hatred for!

This is my guess, particularly as Appleton has left contracted senior players at home with an eye to moving them on while the rest of the team are on tour. It'd make little sense to then sign up a load of players, even on drastically reduced salaries from the outgoing.

He probably didn't fancy the journey. Clarkes been tweeting to say it took the team over 9 hours to get there. And to think some of us have got to do the same joinery tomorrow (unless your flying).

Can't wait! (that's not sarcasm btw )
