Apparently is discussing a 2 year deal with us, according to some credible rumours on twitter. Very talented player but I imagine there are quite a few clubs interested

Not a snowball's chance in hell he will come here.

(Of course, now that I've said that, he probably will.)

Excellent player. General in the midfield.

We got him and I would be very happy.

Tis just Twitter though isn't it.

How good now to be linked to players, with some of the rumours actually coming true!!

He was immense when at Barnsley. That was 4 years ago. The United move didn't work out for him - but it didn't for Billy Sharp either - and thereafter he was steady in a decent Reading side. Still only 28 to.

Oh, and he's 5' 6" so he fits in with our current signing policy!

I don't mind us signing small players, look at Xavi, Iniesta, Messi etc!

WAS a quality player a few years ago and @ 28yo, still in his prime.
Would be a great signing if true.

a few cov fans I follow tweeted it and I searched Brian Howard#'s name on twitter and quite a few football news accounts have tweeted it to. It could amount to nothing but at least we are being linked with plenty of players for a change!

He really isn't very good anymore. Well, at Championship level anyway. He may do OK at L1 level. Much more excited by Jennings.

Lol

We don't sign anyone we suck - we're signing people but they're short - we're signing people but they're from Scotland - we're signing people but they were better when they were younger......

Let's go back to just using academy players then, oh wait.... Can't win anything with kids.

Lol love it.

Roll on August 18th.

The pessimists have to balance out the deluded optimists that think we will win league 1 at a canter.

Somewhere in the middle is common sense. At the Euros some said we'd fail at group stage, others that we'd win it. I said then the reality is a close 1/4 exit ( I thought to Spain ).

The middle ground now is top 6 next year, proper challenge following year.

Are we not going to try and proper challenge this year? Because the way I see it, if we're still in this league the following year it's back to square 1 where we sell/release our best players and get replacements in while cutting the wage bill again. Then we don't go up that year either annnd repeat!

Oh god id like us to and I hope we try.

I just think after 47 years of being whipping boys, it might take us a year to get the winning mentality. Not accepting draws at home, grabbing a win on a bad day, grinding out that tough result away in some dive on a wet wednesday evening in Nov.

This club has forgotten the jimmy hill era. We need to learn how to mount a challenge. I'd say we'd be much more likely to win league 1 in 2013/14 season.

I know what you mean but if it doesn't come this season, I can see which way it's going to go!
