Was thinking that myself. The obvious one being dropping the legal action. Which let's face it would be no great loss to CCFC win, draw or lose.

Not according to 60% of fans polled on here so far. They would rather not secure the future of the club if it meant ditching the legal action.
The legal action is very important. I am surprised and impressed by their morals to be fair.

The difference would be that CCFC don't have much choice about it, whereas Wasps did.

I doubt it would ever been a permanent move either.

Sorry Nick most fans are well versed in what has happened at the club.
They would realise another move to Northampton like last time would be self initiated.
Wasps have said drop the legal action and we will talk long term. I appreciate its 60-40 on here about dropping it.
However I am sure it was around 80-90% of a CET poll (more people) wanted it dropped after the recent court of appeal decision.
Regarding the butts the council have said crack on we will treat it like any other application.
We have said we have another site identified to build both an academy and a training centre so sorry I genuinely think you would get about 2000 tops there.
I don't think we would do it, it would be too costly.
I think it is more likely we would extend the butts to 10k and go for that and inflate ticket prices.

Wasps will stick to the statement previously made in regards to the higgs plans, Sisu have to drop the appeal to get any meaningful talks to start. No good begging or demanding anything, all other parties have lined all the ducks in a row and now ready to pull the trigger. Which sadly means our club is in trouble and no matter how many heart strings are pulled Wasps are in the driving seat and dont seem to care for Sisu, it well maybe the end of our owners.

The council have already been shown that they would try to block it.

The bad thing is most fans aren't well versed at all, they say sisu out because it seems to be the done thing.

Your poll on here asked wether wasps had the right to demand legals be dropped, don't try and twist it to be anything else.

60% sounds a lot when in reality numbers wise it's about a couple of dozen !!

Your poll asks wether wasps should be able to dictate about legal action, it's nothing to do with anything else.

Try not to get dizzy with your spin making out that people don't care about the future of the club and that legal are more important.

Think of morals when you are telling everybody how proud of the council you are, then have a word with yourself about morals.

It won't be the council blocking it, common sense will, I keep saying this go to BPA, stand and look at it, walk around it including Spencer Park, look where the railway line is, the newly constructed retirement village and tell me how that ground can accomadate 25k spectators and before you tell me it is initially for 10k where is our future with a 10k maximum football stadium ? Add to all that it will proberly have to go to the Secretary of State too.

That is massively impressive.
Heard about Brentford closing theirs the other day they felt it wasn't with the costs!!!

It probably isn't worth it if you're not ranked that high, ranking was based on productivety of producing professional footballers thah play in the football league. If you're consistently producing players good enough to play professionally, you're going to cover those costs through wage/transfer savings (they'll be on less than signing someone) and then selling them.

And yes I'm here to express an opinion, isn't that what forums are about, isn't it? Or is this one different?

From what I can see you appear to have an opinion/agenda on everything. I doubt mine is the same as yours, but that's the way of the world.

And before you ask, I've supported CCFC since 1969. Hate SISU with passion. I have posted on the forum before under a different name and I am aware who the forum mafia are.

Oh and by the way, you've done well to follow Cov since 1969 when your profile says you're 28.

The council would.need good reason to block it.
Any appeal would be taken out their hands.
So lets put that one to bed.

Interesting what Kieran is debating with fans in Twitter. Basically every attempt behind the scenes by the club to negotiate with Wasps have failed and they are on a mission to drive us out of the stadium and Higgs.

@KieranCrowley1 @skybluestalk @tommyboy119 Where would this new stadium have been?

@partridge1971 @skybluestalk @tommyboy119 That site by the airport and one on the A444. Both blocked.

@KieranCrowley1 @partridge1971 @skybluestalk @tommyboy119 I'd be interested in seeing the evidence for this. People should know the truth.

@TheSimonGilbert @partridge1971 @skybluestalk @tommyboy119 Its come out publicly before Simon in minutes and statements.

@KieranCrowley1 @partridge1971 @skybluestalk @tommyboy119 Really? Actual evidence? I've never seen it. And we were actively searching.

That is more than likely the case but Wasps don't actually have to say no, they can just wait.
They can easily increase the pressure by saying that things are going well in discussions but we (Wasps) just need to wait until Sisu have finished legal action.
They will also offer olive branches in their facilities with the aim of embedding CCFC in their facilities, which enables them to further squeeze by price increases etc.
I think this hidden pressure on CCFC may result in Sisu taking CCFC away from these facilities but that will just aid the end game of distressing CCFC and picking them up cheap.
Not agreeing with it but IMHO this is what the plan is..

I was born in 1788, but it wouldn't let me enter that date so I changed it to 1988, I am in fact 228 years old.
1969 was indeed the first time I visited Highfield Road, even remember the score 1-0 V Newcastle United (Ernie Hunt PEN)
Yes I know what I'm trying to do and if allowed I will make my opinions well known.

People are welcome to have views, in fact I'd say 90% of the forum have different views to me. However they only have 1 account and they don't pop up randomly with false dates of births, fresh email accounts to match the account etc etc.

A little bit obvious you just want to stir up a bit of trouble isn't it?

It's asked so we drop the legal action in exchange if we had an offer to sign that we were happy with.
Or
Should we keep the legal action as its nothing to do with wasps and they should stay out of it.............

"So should we consider calling Wasps bluff and getting them back round the table with the promise that if a deal can be reached. If the deal is acceptable to the club and also includes acceptable academy access. Should we agree that a condition of signing it will be that the legal action will be stoppped."

It was genuinely asking would you sacrifice the legal action if we got a long term deal that suited us 60% said no.

It says:

  • No the two areas are seperate and Wasps shouldn't be sticking their noses in that area
  • Yes, the legal action doesn't help CCFC so if it helps secure the future of the club why not?

People are saying that Wasps shouldn't be sticking their noses in with the legal stuff and should negotiate anyway. It is nowhere close to saying people prefer Legal Action to their football team or whatever it is you want to make out.

It isn't agreeing to anything, it was a leading question that looks to have back fired a bit.

I don't do polls often and my explanation that went with the poll
That clearly explains the question gets lost in page one.

The reason for the thread was Grendal wanted it. At the time I was saying we should call Wasps bluff and say keep negotiations going if we get an agreement that suits us for both academy and long term at the Ricoh. IMO we should drop the legals in exchange for it.
That is exactly the point of the question.
When you say the poll is leading it seems from what you are saying "it's nothing to do with Wasps they should keep their noses out" is very leading as that is all people seemed to have read.

In terms of backfiring yes I am surprised the legal action is more important to some than signing a long term deal of our choice that secures the future of the club

No planning application has gone in as far as I know and until it does there will be no comment from ccc also crfc need to be involved and a lot will depend on their stance I would think. Bit early to be blaming anyone yet !

Again, nobody has said the legal action is more important. I copied and pasted the 2 options that you put in the poll.

You keep banging on about something completely different to the poll you actually made though.

People can think the legals are pointless, but they can also think that Wasps should still negotiate because it isn't their issue.

I don't think a single person would say legal action is more important would they?

The question is would you ditch the legal action In exchange for a long term solution at the Ricoh.

The two options to answer this were (words to the affect of)

No the two areas are seperate Wasps should keep their noses out.
Or
Yes the legal action doesn't help CCFC so why not.

Read my explanation of the poll that was posted with it.

I take you don't find wasps should keep their noses out as leading
Just it doesn't benefit CCFC?
