You tend to get what you pay for. As well as being project players they were also all very cheap. Its a gamble. Some have paid off at that sort of level - Saka/Thomas. Worth having a punt sometimes. With Bassette, Rodrigues and now Brau we haven't really excelled with project type players which should tell Doug something. And before anyone says Gyokeres came to us as a project, we were in the cheap seats back then

Thomas cost £2
I've said earlier heading that ball was the wrong decision, he should have let it drop and ran after it to shepherd it back to safety.Being out muscled was his 2nd mistake... What on earth was he doing here!? Wasn't even really 1v1, has all the time in the world & could have headed this anywhere except up in the air & backwards.

If Bidwell's only a seasonal pro, he's not going to be match fit.Didn’t think the championships most expensive player ever got much change out of him to be honest…. Granted he played Clarke on side for the Rushworth worldie but it’s not like Bobby Thomas doesn’t do this week in week out while waving his hand in the air.
And Bidwell’s performance on Boxing Day was an embarrassment for such a seasonal pro.

Underrated post. Well done.Heard that a scout has come to eye brau
Dasilva used to get all kinds of flak and was called useless and shite.Well, the coaching staff turned Dasilva into a solid LB; they can do it with Brau.
Isn’t it odd how fanbases label a footballer as ‘shit’ when they haven’t had enough games to get into the pace and swing of Championship football?
It took Wright almost half of a season to do so. Torp took almost a year.
25 Virtue points. Well doneBrau is a skyblue so therefore I support and encourage him. He has been thrown in in 2 big games because of a reckless challenge by an experienced player. I’m with him.
I am glad it wasn't wastedUnderrated post. Well done.
Was too highbrow for many on here.I am glad it wasn't wasted
Brilliant, far too good for this placeHow would the deaf or hard of hearing know what's going on?
Dasilva used to get all kinds of flak and was called useless and shite.
Look where he is now.
Brau doesn't look good enough, but I think we need to at least give him time to develop.
Yeah get that. He's on a 4 year contract though isn't he.Difference here is people were wrong when they called Dasilva shit purely because he was short when he was clearly one of the best technicians in the squad from day one.
Brau is following the well trodden path of freebie a cheap foreigners as seen with Kastaneer, Dacosta, Raphael, an even the more expensive foreigners like Bassette. You can’t coach a lack of footballing ability into a player if they don’t have it and all of those looked like competition winners and never got better.

Positioning has been better too.Basically this. Anyone with eyes could see Dasilva was an excellent technical footballer. Just struggled with some defensive aspects of the game. I think his main improvement under Lampard has been ability in 1v1 situations.

Think he would have to agree to leave by mutual consent
When he was at school he was a good pupil but got expelled for being out on the lashWas too highbrow for many on here.
Yes time to adaptTime to adapt?
I’d understand if he was new and he wasn’t sure whether his role was to high press or stand off and zonal mark or rotate or whatever. He’s been here a long while and should exactly know the CCFC tactics.
The issues of being unable to hold on to the ball, follow a defensive line and stay with his mark and know not to do showboat keepy-uppies and give corners away…..?
Those are not “time to adopt” issues.
Let’s stop hand-wringing over some of these players. Brau has been playing like he’s not been paying attention in training, and let’s not say “poor little foreign man, he needs to learn the language and we need to give him special allowances” or I’ll point to how quickly Tats learned his role.
