Quite why KKH could not have filled in is odd. Hes a good footballer and has experience of playing on left for Preston, in think league.

He could have done a job for couple of games, suspect will be bidwell again friday.

Brau, whilst enthusiastic looks badly out of depth currently, not to say he cant come good, but odd game to chuck him in.

Lampard probably wanted to test Brau. Wrong time to do it. Maybe Brau needs to go out on loan to get the games he needs? Send him out on a recall if our squad is even lighter

If he’s unsettled over here then he’s done either way….annoying as he’s only just got his song and it’s not bad

I thought Breu defended quite well, but his passing was off. I'm not writing him off yet, he's hardly played over the last 2-3 months then is thrown in against the best team in the league (on their day), who's press was ridiculous last night, in a game where the pace and intensity was probably the highest of any game this season. Every players passing was way off.

I think maybe I’m being a little harsh in retrospect. Let’s see if he is included at Charlton!

If that was MVEs first game for us people would be trying to ship him off too. Both goals down his side with him AWOL.

Brau looked nervous, but in terms of what he actually contributed it wasn’t too bad. Lampard should have started Brau on Boxing Day and Bidwell last night in hindsight. Both would have suited the other game better.

Maybe KKH is one of the players who have been struggling with illness.

He wasn't that bad at all. First game, a bit unknown. Not sure I expected anything special, but some of you are writing him off which is absurd and far too early.

The real problem last night was other established players who performed like a bunch of pussies.

He's had one game against arguably the best team he will face this season and has already been written off. Some of our fans really are cunts.

If Bidwell is the answer then God knows what the question is.

Also Lampard isn't going to play KKH out of position at left back when he has 2 senior fit left backs in the squad. Yes he played a few games for Preston there, but it's still out of position. The suggestion is just nonsense.

We were sat on the second row near where the subs warm up and KKH spent the least amount of time warming up. Did notice that Wilson and Lati were great chatting to the ball boy who was near us.

Really unfair to criticise Brau. Due to us being superb at the other end of the pitch for most of the season our defenders have had something of a free ride. You can’t knock Brau coming in for his first game when we were on the back foot for the whole 90 minutes. Personally I thought he was fine and looked like he could defend.

Brau looked like a fish out of water and lacked discipline. But it’s a home debut against a very good side. By contrast, his cameo v Southampton suggested he can offer something, probably as a LWB though. Too early to tell but it’s not a case of Souness bringing on Gearge Weah’s cousin.

KKH has struggled when starting at RB which is why he’s finding it hard to get in ahead of a sub-par MVE. He could do a job at LB and of course did that for PNE but they don’t play like we do. Grimes especially needs a nimble outlet in that position which is why he’s finding works so well with Dasilva. It’s asking a lot of a right footer and looks like FL and co have decided to prioritise left footed LBs while Jay is out.

This guy must be the worst Cov player ever to have his own song? Perhaps Juan Sara runs him close.

Being sat in block 23, unfortunately in close proximity to Brau, it was clear this guy was incredibly, woefully out of his depth after about 5mins. He looked like he’d won a raffle.

Seen a few player ratings that were bafflingly favourable, and the way Gurney questioned Lampard about his performance post match implied he played well. He was abysmal.

In a game of fine margins he had a negative impact on the entire setup and balance of the team.

He played their winger onside for Rushworth’s world class save, he was 5 yards deeper than the rest of the defence - Woolfenden grabbed him afterwards and tried to explain how offside works.

His passing near the start was pure panic mode. One of the passes was laughable, went straight to their man as if intentional.

Generally he offered no out ball for Grimes who is used to playing it to JDS under pressure. And Grimes seemed out of sync partially I think as a result.

His attempt to do keepie ups was laughable.

Why Lampard risked him against one of the best team in the division is bizarre. Should have been hooked at half time for Bidwell or KKH who played LB effectively for Preston.

Send him back to the Spanish 2nd division with the scout who clearly had a few too many pints of mahou.

The keepy ups fuck up was brilliant, not often you see that in professional football. Can the scout also take Lorna Bailey with them or we will have people trying to get one-up on Vincent Van Gogh

He's ball watching for the second goal and totally unaware of Burns until it is too late

That's weird, you're usually obsessed with the full backs being to blame for us conceding apart from in the game where both goals came from the opposition's wingers.

We've seen before players come in and can take a long while to settle in. Especially if coming from abroad and having to learn all this in a second language.

Brau does look like he has a lot to learn to get up to the standard required, but I'll give him more time to do that.

I'd say he looks like someone who should be playing regularly for the reserve team to help get him up to speed, but now it's an U21 team playing first team squad players in it is considered a bit of a slight on the player.

He’s marking another player which Kitch had to pass onto him as the defensive line shifted over because MvE was miles out of position and walking back

Yes the defence did shift over but it was like he was unaware that he had vacated his position and that an opponent might pop up there. That’s not just on him btw, the rest of the team has to spot that too.

So the answer is to leave the man with the ball and go to the free man in the box?

We were overloaded, he did the best thing which is force another pass and then try to get out to the man.

MVE was pushing up the pitch for both goals, which was clearly the plan. We just gave the ball away too cheaply both times and we're stung for it.

I've been saying for weeks to friends, we will get torn apart in the premiership playing this way. The amount of space behind the full backs is huge and we get away with it at this level, but not against Prem level players.

I thought he generally tackled quite well but agree that his passing wasn't great.

In the little we have seen of him, before last night, I thought he has looked alright in more advanced positions. If he is picked again, I would like it to be as a LWB with 3 CBs.

It's irrelevant because it's highly unlikely we'd play the way we do currently in the PL.

The passing was shocking to a man last night. Even Grimes was poor by his standards.

Shame some have to constantly single out players for criticism yet let others off scott free.

Both goals were due to our full back not being able to defend. It was Van Ewijk to blame for both though, not Brau. Just before the goal he also waved Clarke through to put a dangerous cross in that came to nothing and that itself was about 5 minutes after Clarke got in behind him again and inexcusably hit the ball out for a goal kick with the outside of his foot. That’s just a 15 minutes after sample of how to ignore defending according to MVE. There is more.

To be fair to Matt Grimes he was basically a one man midfield last night... Rudoni & Torp had very poor games.

Before last night he'd made one appearance across October, November and December, and Lampard thought it was a good idea to throw him in against Ipswich. It's on Lampard.

No room for sentiment. He has some fundamentals which suggest he could make it as a Championship player, but in 5 months’ time we’ll have hopefully moved beyond that. Probably keep him hanging round for the rest of the season then get him back to Andalusia.

Keep Brau and test him with more caution the rest of the season and reasses the lb position in the summer. Really wish we would’ve went Harrison Burrows when we were linked.

I actually thought he was good defensively really. Looked incredibly rusty on the ball early but Ipswich’s press was excellent and Haji offered fuck all in the channel as a runner so he basically had no options other than to force it for EMC/Grimes in tight areas.

Given he’d played about 6 minutes before yesterday I thought he settled in well. If you watched that game and thought Bidwell does any better then you’ve got no clue really.
