This guy must be the worst Cov player ever to have his own song? Perhaps Juan Sara runs him close.

Being sat in block 23, unfortunately in close proximity to Brau, it was clear this guy was incredibly, woefully out of his depth after about 5mins. He looked like he’d won a raffle.

Seen a few player ratings that were bafflingly favourable, and the way Gurney questioned Lampard about his performance post match implied he played well. He was abysmal.

In a game of fine margins he had a negative impact on the entire setup and balance of the team.

He played their winger onside for Rushworth’s world class save, he was 5 yards deeper than the rest of the defence - Woolfenden grabbed him afterwards and tried to explain how offside works.

His passing near the start was pure panic mode. One of the passes was laughable, went straight to their man as if intentional.

Generally he offered no out ball for Grimes who is used to playing it to JDS under pressure. And Grimes seemed out of sync partially I think as a result.

His attempt to do keepie ups was laughable.

Why Lampard risked him against one of the best team in the division is bizarre. Should have been hooked at half time for Bidwell or KKH who played LB effectively for Preston.

Send him back to the Spanish 2nd division with the scout who clearly had a few too many pints of mahou.

Rob Gurney shows a remarkable lack of football knowledge for a guy who has made a career out of watching it. Lovely fella but without Oggy the Lorna and Rob coverage is woeful.

Wrong Quinn mate da Silva or bidwell wouldn’t have done much better

Lampard wasn’t exactly complimentary about him. Said he did ok. Bidwell will be back in for Charlton and then JDS back for Brum.

That will be Brau’s last start in the league for us I predict.

Didn’t think the championships most expensive player ever got much change out of him to be honest…. Granted he played Clarke on side for the Rushworth worldie but it’s not like Bobby Thomas doesn’t do this week in week out while waving his hand in the air.

And Bidwell’s performance on Boxing Day was an embarrassment for such a seasonal pro.

Can only assume Bidwell was not fully fit or was the latest to suffer the effects of the illness going through the squad. Was strange to not only start Brau, but then to give him 90 mins as well.

We badly miss Dasilva, he's pretty vital to the way we retain possession and build attacks.

If Thomas is back I wouldn’t mind putting Kitching at left back bs Charlton. Greaves was a real problem for them last night.

The keepie uppies in the corner was right in front of me and was the most baffling decision making I’ve seen from a player. Not a clue what he was thinking, he had so many options.

You must have loved Robins team selections towards the end of his reign .

Why not KKH?
He played there for Preston.
Though personally Id go with Bidwell.

Seems to have some technical ability, but no real football brain / poor decision maker. Not really the game to judge him off, but also I cannot currently see much of a future for him here!

I’m guessing for balance / passes down the line, but agreed.

KKH must be wondering why he’s wasted a year of his career coming here at the moment. Can’t get in the team ahead of someone vomiting on the pitch, a geriatric Bidwell or a bloke who looks like he discovered what a football was yesterday morning.

With MVE clearly not at the races for weeks it’s baffling how KKH hasn’t got a start.

He unnerved the entire backline (and arguably the wider team) from about the 5th minute last night.

moving forward if he does get another game think he should be used as a defensive winger! To help double up on any decent RW that we come up against

As I said a month or so ago Brau has been seeking a move back to his country and as we saw, like a few foreign lads over the past few years, the environment is not for them. He will go during January.

Is this something you know about or just speculation?

I think it would be best for both parties tbh though. I imagine the Champ is pretty different football-wise to the Spanish 2nd division (I think that’s where he came to us from?).

Yeah, he was doing the hard bit and then his passing/decision making was letting him down. I’m not totally writing him off as I think there’s something there but looked nervous and naive last night. Asking a lot to be chucked into last nights game

Could be nerves and the fact we were up against a very good team. But also, I think I am somewhat writing him off. If he proves me wrong / surprises me then fair play!

Quite why KKH could not have filled in is odd. Hes a good footballer and has experience of playing on left for Preston, in think league.

He could have done a job for couple of games, suspect will be bidwell again friday.

Brau, whilst enthusiastic looks badly out of depth currently, not to say he cant come good, but odd game to chuck him in.

Player who's hardly played in looking rusty shocker. He wasn't that bad anyway. Defended relatively well, passing was off at times (but that seemed to be a problem for every player on the pitch last night). Not in the worst 5 players on the pitch last night. He doesn't look like the answer for the future of the left back position, but hardly competition winner.

Whilst I accept the points made on here give the guy a break. I thought he did ok.

it’s his first start for the club against the best team in the league and best team to come to the cbs. Bloody hell give the guy a break and let’s not pretend Bidwell would have done much better if at all.

The whole team struggled. We lost .

I would actually argue he was in the 5 worst players last night, but I hear you. Maybe I’m being too quick to judge as it was against good opposition. At the moment I just can’t foresee him coming good given his attributes.

I mean he certainly wasn't impressive but a bit harsh to completely slaughter a guy nervous as hell in his first debut.

He was a bit frantic at times and sloppy on the ball but I thought he did ok. After seeing him at LB, it’s confirmed it for me it is a LWB

Assuming Bidwell goes in the summer, we need a new LB. Can’t rely on JDS. We also need a right winger. We also can’t rely on Saka every week.

In fairness, other than Rushworth, no one had a good game so it's not exactly high praise saying he wasn't in the 5 worst performances.

Knew this thread would pop up.

Defensively he was ok, against one of the best players in the division and probably the best side.

Thought he tried to do too much with the ball and the game was moving a bit quick for him. Was nice having a LB with speed to recover for a change.

Actually felt like it wasn't a bad starting point for a first proper game.
