Bradford advice- do not return (1 Viewer)

One of the the overwhelming factors why CCFC want there own ground it has been reported is that they can benefit from the food and drinks - this fact does not seem to bother Bradford City - 20 mins into the game fancied a pint and enquired and was told the ground is dry no alcoholic drinks for supporters - decided to get a pie instead so stood and queued for 15 mins and the Queue did not seem to be going down so asked somebody coming back what the hold up was and they said they were short of staff (only 2 staff for the whole end) and he went on to say they ran out of hot food 15 mins ago -my calculations worked that about 5 mins after kick off they run out of everything so will shut up shop at half time - not deterred went to find a steward to ask where the other kiosks were and he said i was standing outside it there is only one - finally thought i will go to the toilet and then spent 15 min queuing outside what i can only describe a filthy disgusting hole - hopefully CCFC will take note and that this massive revenue stream is organised properly as rich clubs such as Bradford do not obviously need this income and treat the away fans with total disrespect asking £20 to sit with a pole in front of you and give you a day to remember so you will never return

Queued from the top all the way down to the cafe shed at the bottom and disappeared behind the screen just as the match kicked off. Finally got to the front and asked for a couple of pies. Informed they had ran out 10 minutes ago and that the jovial banter earlier through the side door with a couple of young lads was informing the queue. Settled on 2 beef burgers but no paper towel to hold them so placed from her hand into mine. Lovely

That wasn't polish that was good old Beduth anger.

I do not believe I have ever eaten at a football game. I take lunch before departing for the game and supper when I get home. I genuinely don't understand the need to eat constantly - and I can certainly last 90 minutes without taking two snacks. I don't get it.

Football is a day out for me. Some Yorkshire Pies are worth missing breakfast for.

I didn't go this year. Was on the way back from a holiday (doubtful I would've gone anyway tbh). The issues listed above were there last year too. I was having a dangerously low blood sugar and they refused to serve me when I pushed in at the front of the queue despite me having the exact amount of cash in my hand. As I got to the stage of passing out another City fan demanded they gave me a Coke. They still refused for a while.

After the game one of my mates was randomly punched as he was getting on the coach which the stewards and local police didn't do anything about and were more concerned about my mate being annoyed at being attacked than stopping the assailant. As you can imagine the situation got heated but luckily Dave Mapp was nearby and he sorted the whole thing out in no time at all.

The most unhelpful group of staff I've ever experienced.

Not sure about the ground facilities as didn't bother using them.

But had a very enjoyable weekend in Bradford. Which TBH I was very surprised about. The city itself is a lot nicer than I expected. Our hotel was superb for the price.

Two coppers who were at the spoons we were in were friendly/helpful. All the locals I spoke to were friendly.

And how nice it was to leave the pub at 2.40, and get there for kick off walking

Will definitely go next season if we play them.

To be fair it was a good job PC Mapp was there as there would have been a massacre and we would have been blamed?
And yes it is a shit ground and shit experience, good job I'M in Majorca or I would have been there.

I joined a massive line of fans at Tottenham once at half time. Returned just in time for second half kick off and started handing out giant Pepsi colas. Wife "what are these, no one asked for these?"

Point was, it was something to do, nerves, last game of season win or die.

Like Mr Trench don't normally do football beverages. Although I swear a meat and potato pie saved me from frost bite at Oldham once.

Actually had a good day out despite the result. We were surprised about how decent Bradford city centre was, very pleasant sitting in Centenary Square enjoying a few beers in the sunshine. Only downsides were that the facilities in the away end were very poor and the fact that that they only opened one exit for us all to get out at the end. The steward refused to open the exit at the far end, which would have saved us 10 mins waiting around. Found a decent cafe after the game for some good quality fish and chips.

On the same subject, I went to wembley a few years ago to watch England play Wales (can't remember the score, I was trollied).
The entire inside and out of the ground was sponsored by Carlsberg but they didn't sell any beer. Heartbreak.

Similar to the England under 21 game a few years ago at the Ricoh where we got there nice and early (3 hours) to get on the ale only to be told there's no beer. I cried.

Paid on gate and got put in overspill away fans area at side of pitch. Anyway there was beer on sale in there.

As for the f&b behind the goal it's always been like that there and Saltaire did warn us all about it last week.

Got what we deserved yesterday. Bradford is a great City and their fans are a good bunch. Good luck to them.

Was you outside llyods bar mate? Was chatting to you about which way to ground and MK away? Your username gives it away

Hahahaha this did make me chuckle. I joined the mile long queue before the game and got to the front:

"Can I have a cheese burger please?"
"We don't have any cheese."
"Oh ok, well I will have a cheese burger please, hold the cheese!"
"I'm sorry but the buns are still frozen."

The meal deals also made me laugh. Can't remember exact figures but the deal of a "pie and drink" or "burger and drink" saved you a total of 0.00p in either deal.

I had a bad feeling there would be no beer either, with no proper concourse!

Must agree with you.
The toilets were a disgrace.
My mate was feeling ill and went down to get a bottle of water, what an absolute waste of time.
Yet those fans over to our right had a full kiosk, plenty of food and three staff, I started to get very annoyed and insisted that I was let in amongst the Cov fans in empty stand to get water, they sent two stewards with me to make sure I came back.

Found the stewards/policing very helpful and polite but agree the facilities really were quite poor and i supposed to be expected from a fairly depleted and dated away end
