I know-and alongside you and many others I’ve seen him cost us points home and away.
Let’s just give him one last Hurrah and then we can wave him goodbye come the end of the season.

What makes you think that any other club would want him after his track record here?

He’s had more than a second chance for me now. I did try and support him to start but have realised that he’s just not got a level head and he can’t get down to anything struck low.
On your head be it Frank if you pick him !!

I still look at Man U first goal and think he should have done better ….

I agree. I think his confidence has gone and we mustn’t make it worse for him.

It could have been a lot worse if we had got on his back. He was alright until his late error.

Would love for him to prove everyone wrong and have 4 world class performances to finish the season.

Can’t see it happening sadly. So it’s a case off desperately hoping the defence do a good enough job that he has nothing to do which also seems unlikely.

No doubt about it - i was right behind that ball in, and a sack of shit lying on the ground would have stopped it.

Collins's one strength is the flamboyant tip over the bar. Other key aspects of a keeper's game are sadly lacking ...

1. His defence of his near post is non-existent
2. He lets the ball go under his body far too often
3. He can't command his 6-yd area effectively (catching, punching, etc)
4. His communication with his defenders in and around the penalty area is an accident waiting to happen (as we have seen twice in the last three games)

He is kept in the side simply because he can play out to the back four, but some of our most valuable goals have come when he has kicked it long.
I think the downfall of previously solid keepers like Wilson, Moore and now Collins asks serious questions of Aled Williams, who i think needs to be shown the door!

Whoever is picked in any position I will support them. Managers and coaches live in the real world and fans live in an ideal world.

Wilson played the last 3 against Middlesbrough in 22/23. We were unbeaten and conceded 1 goal. Even just seeing his name might make 1 or 2 of them think a bit more.

By comparison, if Bristol City ever release Max O'Leary, we should splash the cash. Watch his performance against Leeds last night. Not at fault for any of the 4 goals they conceded. It would have been 10-0 if not for him. Masterclass!

Are you sure managers and coaches live in the real world, some of the stories I've been told I would not be too sure about that .

Collins is so weak on his near post. At the Manure game hardly any mention was made on the tv of the cross he let through body effectively.

If you could train any animal to be a keeper which would be the best? I'm thinking a large cat but maybe more leopard than tiger, they are smaller but i think they have better spring. I'd like to open this question up to the class.

I know we're all against using one of the younger keepers, but James Trafford at Burnley is only 22, why not go for the arrogance of youth?
Whoever won't be fazed by the game as the confidence and attitude would be sky-high.

You only think knowing now what we know it's a nailed on certainty he should have, let's face it a goalkeeper is there to save shots and keep the opposition at bay, that's 2 things he's not good at, catch more than the odd ball and relieve pressure errr nope, kick the ball to our players errr nope again so on the pro side instead of the cons...the opposition love him !!

I think he is a poor goalkeeper but in fairness to him his distribution is decent.

Personally had enough of Collins. Wilson not the answer. I'd back Bell and go for the future. Face it, he can't do any worse

Definitely some kind of a cat. Perfect predators, build to track movement at speed and respond.

Honourable mentions for octopus and elephant tho. Even some large wingspan bird might work.

Unfortunately, instead of an eagle, we seem to be stuck with a pair of tits.

The continued promotion of Collins on the basis that his distribution is good seems at odds to the primary function of a keeper.
As Brian Clough stated the goalies job is to stop the ball going in the net.
On that premise Collins should not be picked, as he consistently fails.

One for the stats gurus, how many times per game does Collins play a meaningful long pass and how many have resulted in goals.

We know he’s costing us goals so is the supposed major benefit actually doing us any good?

The point of his distribution isn’t to score goals per se it’s to relieve pressure on the defence and play us higher up the pitch. He hits the midfield really well, far better than any others.
