Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. but it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning. Henceforth SISU Nazis will meet equally ACL well armed, and perhaps better pay the rent. Hence forth they will have to face in many theatres of war that superiority in the air which they have so often used without mercy against other, of which they boasted all round the world, and which they intended to use as an instrument for convincing all other peoples that all resistance to them was hopeless....

There are always options, we just need to know SISUs intentions either way... but quickly!

Well I just hope this post is right one way or the other. I'm sick to death of the whole darned thing tbh. I want to come out of this dark tunnel. I've been in it so long I remember one day not bothering to open my eyes to it anymore...so when I eventually come out of it & open my eyes...there will be total darkness, which I will be indifferent to, otherwise I pray - there will be light, bright & shining. A light that brings REAL hope for the future...and I hope we fulfil that hope.

I want a successful solution but alas Clarke jumping ship has pointed to directors fleeing like rats to avoid any personal liability it seems as the good ship CCFC starts to sink.................pretty much as OSB said they would I believe !

I think John Clarke leaving is very bad news, not because I like him or what he does or doesn't do for the club, but he is the one true sky blue.

I think it's time to face up to the inevitable.

I think the problems started with Brian Richardson all those years ago and has continued will all that have come after him.

But I'll tell you who I blame the most for the situation we find ourselves in........ SKY TV........ they have ruined football in the country.

on the 2nd March 1962 Accrington Stanley played their last match v crewe and resigned on 11th march 1962.Debts arose due to them building a new stand they could afford. They owed £40,000
Hope 2nd of march doesn't repeat itself 51 years later.
my dad says if I don't drink milk everyday,i'll only be good enough to play for Coventry city....who are they.....exactly !!

And now that SKY have got their dirty hands on Formula 1 TV rights that's another thing that'll get screwed up!

I'm well peaved cause I can only watch 10 of the 20 races this season because Ecclestone split the sodding coverage rights between Sky and the BBC.

Makes my blood boil!!!

Anyway back to Football!

I totally agree with you on the sky thing and I think this the beginning of the end

So why is sky successful. Footy fans subscribe because it is cheaper than watching in the grounds. Blame the fans?

I have a bee-hive in my bonnet about the Sky issue. Although in fairness not just them... its ESPN/ITV...actually the FA/Premiership/FL who've sold football's sole...& f1; cricket; Rugby's ruling bodies want a cut of the cash too...& it'll all end in their tears when it backfires.

Sky is successful because they can sell the rights to all of the sports they cover all over the world. They absolutely coin it from the football rights alone.

Yet it takes 7 days to get an engineer round when I had problems with my sky box,we had to watch via my laptop connected to my projector then shone onto the wall with the sound via my guitar amp.
It was different to say the least

I never thought I'd say it, but the Sky coverage of the F1 is second to none.
It blows the bbc out of the water, all they need is to get Coulthard involved and it will be complete.

Directors leaving now will not have an impact on their personal liability (none are likely to have personal liability, it's a limited company and they aren't unlikely to have personally guaranteed any debts). Nor will it impact any potential review of their conduct (all directors from the past 3 years have their conduct reviewed in insolvency).

I do however agree it probably isn't for a good reason. Maybe he isn't happy with what sisu are proposing and doesn't want to be associated with it.

Cost I can understand, but principle? Enjoy it whilst I'm basking in practice, qualifying and every single race all season.

You can get it without getting the sports package, just get HD.

Same here - why let Sky slip themselves between us and our game? It belongs to us not them.

All on the principle that was referred to previously about football..."selling it's soul". Rugby Union turned professional a relatively short while back...a much admired quality in RU was the players unquestioningly accepting the referee's decisions - that's eroding already...almost every match it is visible now. That's just the start of it. And "Just get HD" - Hmmm...& that costs...???

Not too sure how much actually, but, and this is guess work, I'd imagine the cost of the sports package goes towards the football costs. Sky F1 can be viewed without the sports package.

Sky only own the rights to PL in UK, the overseas rights are owned by the PL and sold to individual countries or regions.
