So, what's the general consensus with the Ricoh ownership? Do we want SISU to have it? Or would you prefer it staying out of their hands.

If the answer for our clubs survival is the Ricoh's hand over, should we make this known to our council by in a ways, fasting at games, cutting off their match day income in some way. It's a bit drastic, yes, and I doubt they'd even take note.

Last time I ate there, I had a flat/warm pint, and a pie that burnt my tongue tasteless for days, so no one would really be missing anything.

Food for thought? (sorry).

If enough people thought this could work, and were aware of it taking place, I'm sure they wouldn't mind saving the £20 they would have spent on stodge

I'm already boycotting-in that the last few times, the food has been so dire that I couldn't eat it. I'll save my money from now on.

My mate still checks the same mayonnaise dispenser every single game to see if it's been refilled yet: two years he's been doing that, like a ritual, and it's still empty. Two years!!! :claping hands:

Likewise one of the hand-dryers in the Gents has been broken for two and a half years now. Pretty piss poor!

I am sure 50% of the fans probably don't even realise the money doesn't go to the club anyway.

As the Council own the building, I wonder what they'd do if these were reported to them. See how much of an interest they have in the arena.

Maybe we could just adapt the sky blue one as that must be redundant now? Not been since the cup game has it

attention to detail - any chance you could do an audit of the whole stadium? :claping hands:

After spending years in retail, I did ponder a career in "Mystery Shopping"! As a former store manager I often walk around them tutting and shaking my head at the crap I see, but The Ricoh is up there with the worst standards-most notably of customer service-of any entertainment venue I've visited. At the Sheff U game, I commented to my mate that the standards had improved: for the first time ever, a member of staff serving food actually smiled.

Someone mentioned Leamington the other day-the chocolate bars there are cheaper than the shops, and everybody serving treats you like a friend. They totally put us to shame.

If there was even the most basic management going on there, the things I've spoken about would have been picked up on and fixed within a week.

Same here, there's the downfall in the plan.

Non League here we come, I have had plenty of staff smile and serve me well, before the game, however during 1/2 time when you have a bunch of rowdy blokes demanding beer basically we just want them to get the stuff out ASAP!

Its still safely stored away in the shed,as regards the OP maybe its six years too late.I mean Whats better re- these bunch of Shysters compared to the ones when we moved in.
I also think the only ones feeling any of this pain would be Compass ,as far as I'm aware they payed the Council £12.5 M. per ann for operating the place.

If the beer is flat and warm I may try some as I can't abide ice cold, fizzy beer ... That's lager, surely?

Make a game of spotting other people go to use it, then going "Argggh.." in a really annoyed manner, then tell them how long it's been broken. Spread the word!

The stadium food is really crap, if I'm peckish I tend to buy something at Tesco.

The hotdog stall has been sold out of bloody hotdogs the last 2 games I've been to. And at the Burton game, the pie stall had run out of pies too. Seriously. No need to boycott, because they've got no bloody food to buy to start with.

Don't think I could be doing without my halftime pint though, even if it is absolutely dreadful.

I'll never forget the time I got told last season that "oh no, we don't heat the pies here...they're...err...umm..coming from the other place". When I asked where this other place was, and when they were coming, I got "Erm...well, the thing is.... I don't know."

They are selling Carlsbad in leftover Heineken cups from the Olympics atm.

I wish they'd just sell all the Leftover bottles of Heineken. There must be thousands. And Carlsberg is Beelzebub piss.

Edit: Oh I boycott the food anyway. Its fucking awful.

I thought that Ranson once claimed that we receive a percentage of the food and drinks sales?

There is more than one outlet which sells Pies and Hot Dogs, you will also probably find no queue there either.

Never purchased food from the Ricoh as I have always seen it as an overpriced rip off.

As for wanting SISU to own the ground that is a big hell no from me as first and foremost I am a Coventry City council tax payer so as long as the council have 50% of The Ricoh and we have events and gigs like Coldplay appearing there it only has a positive effect on my payments in keeping them low!

If it was sold to SISU they would remortgage it to the hilt the forego on maypents and we would loose a cash cow to some big conglomerate.

Ideally I would like the club to own the ground, don't understand anyone who doesn't really.

Just a small point ......... ACL who run the stadium make £500k per year ......... just exactly how is that going to save us when we are running at £250k losses per month

If we are running at 9000 fans per game say on average 3000 purchase food etc in the stadium (not the posh seats) and spend £8 thats turnover £24k per match or £552k pa (before any costs )....... you wont get everyone to boycott (as proven on this forum) and all they will do is close outlets and cut costs to match. Out of the profit Compass receive a share and ACL a share ........ isnt going to have that much of an effect really is it .........

Missing the point really ACL do not make even 25% of their income out of CCFC and of that the catering return is a lot smaller still. A boycott will achieve little when many already have boycotted on the basios of cost and quality anyway.

Biggest point of all ........ do I want SISU owning the Ricoh - NO .......... if they do however want it then show us the money, buy it or shut up. The missing "football match day income" at the Ricoh is not going to turn us round in to a profitable or a breakeven club, when the club repeatedly spend more than we have on providing a crap product to long suffering fans
