Different game I know but 100% confirmed that supporters clubs get an allocation of tickets from the club.

It’s been known for a while that they get sorted out with tickets, don’t get the ongoing denial from the club?

Normally shouldn’t be an issue but when we have such a small allocation if they’ve been given any more than a handful then it’s a bit of a slap in the face.

In the last couple of years, both Boddy and Juggy confirmed that the Leamington & Warwick supporters club’s members get an allocation of tickets ringfenced on the BBC CWR Friday Night phone in - which can be a useful source for club info. Both said it was to help encourage memberships but stressed that those tickets are for ST holders that meet the top priority criteria. I still don’t think it’s right that they get ‘ringfenced’ tickets when everyone else has to battle it out online and in the ticket shop.

To answer another point (or not answer it) with England tournaments and away games, the players and staff’s, friends and family’s tickets come out of the England ‘away’ allocation, so often the amount of tickets available to purchase is less than the allocation received… thus it wouldn’t surprise me if in this case the player’s and staff’s tickets came out of our Bournemouth away allocation, which after the L&W ringfenced allocation, takes the 1300 tickets we were given down by a couple of hundred.

I have in the past suggested the points system that England uses (which recognises those that do away games on top of all the home games - or a ST in this case) but it was widely shot down as it would only be needed for your Bournemouth or West Brom’s where the allocation given is small.

I do think something needs to be sorted - whilst the player’s and staff should get some comps for their family etc I don’t see why one supporters club should get priority over the rest of us.

The only thing I will say about a points based system is that it creates a sort of closed shop for away tickets at most grounds, which is fine I guess - but what about young lads 15/16 trying to start going to away games with their mates but not having any points to their name yet? Going to be very difficult for people like that to get tickets and will be a shame to block them out imo.

It is true. But if you email the club certain employees are adamant it isn't. I have the emails still to prove it.

There’s 20+ other away days they can get tickets for no problem at all where they can start to rack up points. I think if we’re being honest, there’s probably only a couple hundred, max 500, that travel to 80%+ of away days. I think the points based system would reward their loyalty and there would still be tickets available for other fans just in a limited capacity.

Like I mentioned a message or two above Garry, that’s a clear fib for them to say that to you when Dave Boddy and L&W Supporters club members have mentioned on CWR phone ins that they have ring fenced tickets!

I know it is but I got told in an email, which copied in dave boddy and the ticket office manager, that it isn't true. Also been told several times that we can not choose seats yet clearly others can.

That’s where the England method comes in handy: 80% of tickets go to those based on highest loyalty points - the other 20% go into a random ballot of all other away members that applied.

Like others have rightly said though, it’s a lot of admin for the club considering right now we will only have this issue at a handful of games.

If we reached the PL where the max allocation is 3000 across the board for league games, it would definitely be required.

Personally I wasn’t able to go to the majority of away games for a few years for various reasons , but now I can go to all of them, So I really hope I’m able to get tickets for away games as a phase 1 elite who only went to 6-7 aways a season from About 16-17 to 19-20.

Sometimes (eg Blackburn and Hull) the front row or two are held back for restricted mobility supporters. Which is a pain because you can’t select them online, they never answer the phone and we don’t all live in Coventry! But yeah, if you want a front row seat you have to contact the ticket office (for some matches).

So, exactly the same membership idea giving priority to members just the money isn't going to the club (as far as we know, unless the supporters club pays a fee for a guaranteed allocation).

On a serious note, the club have to look at introducing a loyalty-based points system, especially if we do the unthinkable and get promoted. It would only be necessary for a couple of games this season granted, but PL away tickets would be like gold dust.

I can’t believe how many Coventry fans on Twitter are against a loyalty system. Baffling.

I dont care that fans who haven't been to as many games may have got a ticket tbh. Its a mad rush if you get a ticket you get a ticket in my eyes. The annoying thing is the Ticketmaster site, it doesn't work correctly. The club tweeted at 10:40 that single tickets remained but people trying to get singles from before 10am missed out.

I think a loyalty based points system has to be considered if we achieved the unthinkable and got promoted.

I've got tickets for Bournemouth which will be one of only 2-3 away games for me this season. It doesn't seem right that I've got them yet others who travel to most away games have missed out. Not that I'd even consider giving them up, obviously!

As the only member of Hampshire sky blues epic fan group. We are not happy to not have been given priority tickets.

Due to this we will be setting up an insulate britain style protest on the A34. As if we cant go none of you should be able too !

We were given front row at Hull but were told nobody can change seats they are given. They insist that the usual suspects must swap tickets each game to get the front row...
