Absolutely, the two of them were just comic geniuses. Rik was never the same after his accident though, sadly.
I met him prior to the Live tour 3 (Hooligans Island) at the Hippodrome, he was a genuine bloke. Could tell he was troubled beneath that exterior, but he was a gentleman. Still have my Bottom 3 signed programme from that night, it's under lock and key away from the kids and their crayons.

I liked Rik Mayall, but saw him live at the Belgrade Theatre doing stand-up and he just wasn't funny. Think he needed others to bounce off and ad lib against.
