Just to get you all in the festive spirit, along with whatever alcohol you've already cracked open.

The episode is in parts on YT, but I'm guessing the 2nd and 3rd parts will auto-load.

Enjoy.

Absolutely, the two of them were just comic geniuses. Rik was never the same after his accident though, sadly.

I met him prior to the Live tour 3 (Hooligans Island) at the Hippodrome, he was a genuine bloke. Could tell he was troubled beneath that exterior, but he was a gentleman. Still have my Bottom 3 signed programme from that night, it's under lock and key away from the kids and their crayons.

I liked Rik Mayall, but saw him live at the Belgrade Theatre doing stand-up and he just wasn't funny. Think he needed others to bounce off and ad lib against.

Aye his stand-up was hit and miss, usually miss, it just wasn't his forte.

Anyone recall that song he did at a stand-up festival, the 'I'm Evil' song? That was legendary.

Incidentally, anyone who enjoyed Filthy, Rich and Catflap can find most of the episodes here:

Brilliantly, it's a cross between The Young Ones and Bottom. Always liked it.

Still think he was at his best in the Bad News spoof - can watch that again and again and cry with laughing

Haven't seen this, have you a link at all?

I did actually shed a tear when Rik passed away, I've grown up on his comedy and to me, he was the epitome of comedic talent.

Might watch Drop Dead Fred later, actually, haven't seen it for a while. Now there's a film that would have been nothing without Rik carrying it.
