Feeling more than vindicated for defending what we paid for him

Looking a bargain now .
Another player I'm glad we didn't sell when there were rumours surrounding him last January

Thomas and Kitching as a pair are more than the sum of their parts. Pair of hard northern shithouses, love them both.

Rudoni coming on made a big difference. Just even his movement is a joy to behold. Great at creating space.

Nah we can do Charlton without him no need to rush him back when he’s got another week before the next game IMO

Depends on recovery levels , tonight was a proper workout for the squad and some were really blowing at the end . Fortunate we played tonight and have that extra day

I'd seen Kitching ball watching Saturday and he's never a goal threat like Thomas. But tonight once we were 5 at the back he also got forward and he was rewareded with two goals. Both reactionary but he was aware and didn't hesitate. I was think Wolfy might come in but tonight he really stepped it up and that performance will give him so much more confidence it may be a while now before Wolfy gets his chance.
Simms not a dry eye in the house for him. His recent bit parts have been very good and he has taken his chance brilliantly. A proper number 9 that I have to say suits our long ball tactic (when we play it) perfectly. It's now his shirt and Wright has to wait his turn. That in itself is amazing.
This team has a few exceptional individual talent and has proven to be the difference this season. Players who can win you a game. The players are clearly very fit and show no signs of fatigue at this point.
January we need cover at left back, one more striker, and cover for Grimes. What a player he is btw. Brains, calm, reads the game so well, siezes on opportunities and 9 times out of ten knits everything together.
We haven't looked at our fluid best for a few games now yet we keep going through the gears when needed. I'm starting to beleive. Ipswich, Southampton are my biggest concern atm. But we won at Stoke and won at Boro' so our strength is our results.

Would it be rushing him back?

Granted every player's recovery is different but it's worth noting that Wright was out for twice as long as Rudoni last season (around 4 months) yet started his third game back, then started again against Sunderland later that same week.

Just can’t see him being fit to start after only managing quarter of an hour three days earlier.

Sometimes it’s not about individual performances but the collective. Away midweek, a long trip, second v top:

Rushworth 9
Van Ewijk 9
Thomas 9
Kitching 10
DaSilva 9
Grimes 9
Torp 9
Eccles 9
Sakamoto 9
Simms 10
Thomas-Asante 9

Mason-Clark 9
Kelser-Hayden 9
Allen 9
Rudoni 9

Simms 9.5 where has that performance been?
Kitching 9 redeemed himself from Saturday's shit show
Rushworth 8.5 no chance with either goal and made a couple of great saves and was alert enough to come out of his box to clear the danger when needed
Torp 8 great work rate and assist for the first
Sakamoto 8 a constant thorn in Borough's side.
Grimes 8 just does what Grimes does.

Everyone else 7. Good to see Rudoni looking sharp when he came on.

As a caveat, granted Wright had more minutes when he came on in his first two games back vs Oxford and Stoke (was subbed on at 74 and 66 compared to Rudoni who was introduced at 81 and 76).

Although he looked woefully rusty up until that Sunderland game, whereas Rudoni last night looked excellent and played a big part in helping us win the game.

It might be that Charlton is where he's earmarked to be reintroduced back into the Starting XI as Rudoni would probably naturally cover more ground than Wright due to the position he's in, but if he's fit and able enough I don't really see why he shouldn't get a start.

Simms’ goal was that good it’s easy to forget Grimes’ assist on the volley for a pinpoint header. We’ve scored some superb individual and team goals this season.

I thought Jamie Allen coming on also made a difference. We were back going toe to toe in midfield again. We’d been overpowered there after Eccles went off. Ellis MOTM by a country mile. So pleased for him. He’s been mature, patient and a team player

Soon as Rudoni & Allen came on, we totally bossed the game. Rudoni showed us what we've been missing these last few weeks. Those gaps in midfield disappeared, and he's such a key link player. We may have a light squad in terms of numbers, but there's so many options still for Frank when using the bench as shown last night. Wright is out, Simms steps up massively. BTA hobbles off, we throw on EMC, then we can change the midfield with Allen and Rudi being introduced and it wins us the game.
In that play off final season 3 years ago, our subs were restricted to Tyler Walker, Sean McGuire, Jonathan Panzo,

There are some pretty low ratings I think.

No one was as low as a 6. Kitching, Simms, and Grimes probably get a 9. The rest of the team around an 8.

Two fantastic assists last night.
Just when we thought Torp was a shoo in for assist of the season along comes Grimes.

Humble pie from me for Ellis. I'd have gladly got rid in the summer, not just tonight but hes had that coming with recent efforts and tonight was his best game in a City shirt. Faultless. 10

Hard to score some of the others, played well but subs made the difference and if Conway puts them 3-2 up it could have been different.
Love that character though, brilliant.

Yep was maybe the turning point but at 2-1 Eccles had the chance to make it 3.
