Simms motm by a mile.

Cannot understate how critical rushworths big interventions on that Whittaker shot, the other when he stormed out when they were through, and diving at feet of Conway for that miss. Massive.

Humble pie from me for Ellis. I'd have gladly got rid in the summer, not just tonight but hes had that coming with recent efforts and tonight was his best game in a City shirt. Faultless. 10

Hard to score some of the others, played well but subs made the difference and if Conway puts them 3-2 up it could have been different.
Love that character though, brilliant.

Simms superb. Confidence coursing through him. Defensively our full backs were far too open. Special bits of credit. Lampard and staff changing the system after 70 mins. And Rushworth was excellent and very decisive. Grimes - consistent quality.

I thought Jamie Allen coming on also made a difference. We were back going toe to toe in midfield again. We’d been overpowered there after Eccles went off. Ellis MOTM by a country mile. So pleased for him. He’s been mature, patient and a team player

He got caught square too many times. Fine with the ball but some of those old habits were there, the Conway chance was an example of it.

Rushworth 8 what a save from Whittaker
MvE 5.5 has been poor last two games
Thomas 6 looked a bit lost at times tonight but still gave his all
Kitching 9 gave everything, tried to keep driving us forward and well deserved goals tonight
JdS 7.5 thought he was composed tonight in a hostile atmosphere and made a lot of sensible choices with the ball
Grimes 8.5 just oozes calmness and class
Torp 7.5 great run for the first goal
Eccles 6.5 did ok and linked well , should've scored
Sakamoto 7.5 in a tough physical game he competed and tried to get us going forwards
BTA 7 started brightly and gave us an outlet
Simms 10 MONSTER

Subs
EMC 7 thought he did ok
KKH 8 Did a great job tonight up and down , would start him Saturday
Rudi 8 changed the game and turned the momentum
Allen 8 same as Rudi

Lampard 10 tough decisions tonight , some which would have been questioned if we had lost but they were the right ones and won us the game

I love him , he leads well , he can play and he's got that nasty streak needed that you want from a centre back
