Bolton is up for sale and includes ground. Price is 25 million.
As with any sale there maybe some things in the detail that may not be so appealing.

All things being equal , price of Coventry City by SISU has to be considerably lower.

Interesting suspect that the £25m is mostly the stadium. The stadium has some similarities to the Ricoh albeit slightly smaller (there is a large exhibition / conference hall and hotel rooms), yet the price of it is £25m presumably freehold?

Wonder how they plan to settle the 205m in debt ? let alone the other creditors shown in the 2016 financials

Think it would get you the Stadium, training ground and Hotel, but maybe not the car park park or offices. There are also creditors to be considered and whether these would be settled within the £25m. Also some concerns about possible future payments due to former owner Eddie Davies linked to performance.
One thing for sure - the operational structure at Bolton is as complex as the one at CCFC.

Lets buy it and relocate to Bolton. Only 30 minutes down the road for me. #selfish

I think the majority of this (c.£170m) is due to former owner Eddie Davies who bankrolled the Club during the Allardyce years and onwards. Also the Warburton family are involved in there somewhere. When Ken Anderson 'rescued' the Club a couple of years ago, I'm sure the phrase 'debt free' was quoted (where have we heard that before?).
I'm no accountant but I can't believe that this level of debt would have just been written off.

They'll be in administration before a sale can take place.

Yes more to this than the £25m price tag, like most clubs like us and Bolton they carry heavy debt with them!!

This is from a post on Bolton News -

"So a buyer is expected to cough up 25m for a club still losing money every month, had no owner investment for over two years and heading back into League One. That money is needed to cover debts including an estimated 7m+ to Blumarble, 5.5m to PBP & 2.5m to Brett Warburton, and a bunch of creditors such as Bolton Council who are owed money. Hardly a debt free club! Oh and lets not forget the remaining 5-10m as a tasty payoff for a certain someone whos net input is reported to be one pound and zero pence. Before we forget, there’s also those offices and car park that need buying back...
In fact, now I think about it, there’s that reported £500k unrefundable payout to look at the books as well.
It also makes no mention of the 15m soft debt consideration to Davies based on future success.
I know that there is at least one serious investor out there, but let’s face it, they're not going to go for this deal and who's to blame them."

All sounds familiar...

At least they are actually up for sale, no matter how stupid the price is

Have they said what is actually for sale and included?

One one of the links it says "The company will be sold with no structured debt and just normal trade creditors outstanding"

If it makes good business sense, then plenty will applaud it.

I can't believe the football authorities (f.a. or football league) have stood by and let so many clubs be mismanaged so badly for so long. Surely all members of the football league should have their accounts independently and professionally audited at least every other year.
The authorities must share some of the blame for allowing this situation to continue for so long.

Maybe Wasps could use it as a launch into having regional branches. Head Office stays here.

Or they could just move I am sure all their midlands based fans won't mind the journey as the London ones have had to put up with it

Let's buy them, move them to the Ricoh next season and rename them Coventry Rovers.
