I wasn't the one trying to pass their post off as fact. So not sure that comment applies to me really.

I sort of see both sides of the coin with Newcastle. Firstly the fans chat some shit about what they deserve and having shit owners shows a level of entitlement beyond belief. They couldn’t comprehend what we or other clubs have been through and it stinks. The club is profitable and insulated against the bubble bursting. On the other hand the owners mess about with a brilliant manager and let him walk replacing him with someone treading water a league below. Why would you want to keep buying season tickets when the only ambition is to win the bare minimum of games. Ashley seems to have taken the abuse and gone “fuck you then, I’ll make the club worse before I sell”

I had a bit of a ding dong with some Geordie fans on FB the other day about being in the shit. They were moaning about the state of their club and I was pointing out that they should thank their lucky stars that they're not Cov, Bury or Bolton and that some perspective was needed.

Rafa saying how much be wanted to stay to finish the "project". Decides to run down his contract after being offered £6m/year to miraculously pick up a £12m/year job in China and flies out that day. Now, that takes some doing to be interviewed, offered the job and fly out immediately to start his new "project".
I think some fans need to take a reality check instead of being taken in by the Fat Spanish Waiter.

My best mate is a Geordie and was having exactly the same argument with him. He couldn't see that in the grand scheme of things they are still doing pretty well, any number of clubs would kill to be in their position.

When you consider the dire financial situation at Bolton and Bury Then throw
in Stockport, Oldham and Wigan who have all had their fair share of financial
Difficulties ‘would their close proximity to Utd and City be a major factor in the
hardship they find themselves in.
I know a lot of clubs nationwide (us included) are in a mess ‘but it seems just
about every Club in Greater Manchester are in real trouble.

Might be being a bit pedantic but there’s a difference between not having enough players for a friendly to go ahead and the club’s players refusing to play. Surely even if Bolton had a full squad they still would’ve refused as the point is, they haven’t been paid. The amount of players they have or don’t have is irrelevant as it’s the reason the friendly has been cancelled that is significant. Simply saying they don’t have enough players in itself is incorrect. No statement that has come out has specified that as the reason either so not sure why you’re still trying to argue your point?

They've got 7 registered players you pedantic twat, as it stands they cannot fulfil their fixtures.

They managed to play their friendly fixture against York so I think you’ll find they do

Can they play trialists i.e. unregistered players in the league?

Wanderers got their pre-season campaign underway at a warm and sunny Bootham Crescent, with a squad largely comprising of the club’s under 23 and under 18 players losing out by a single goal against their more experienced opponents.

They can play their Under 18s and Under 23s though. All depends whether they also go on strike I guess.

No they have to be registered to comply with F.A.rules and for insurance etc.
Also you can only play for a maximum of 2 teams in 1 season, (hence the need to be registered)

Some were fairly saying that regardless of others, they still had the right to moan if they think their club is being run poorly.

I kept on saying that...yeah, I get that but complaining that you've been in Europe less or spent less on transfers since Ashley has been in power doesn't compare to the fates of other clubs like Cov, Blackpool, Bury etc.

One fan even complained that their stadium was tatty. St James fucking Park for fuck sake!

To be fair, they were all fairly reasonable and came across well. Compared to Sunderland fans on the other hand....

I remember Blackpool being in the exact same position a few years back ‘and I believe
That was the week before KO, we drew 0-0 early on IIRC and they weren’t that bad, can’t
Remember where they finished ‘but may well have been higher than us.

Point is they still played York with some first team players. They cancelled the FIRST TEAM friendly game with Chester due to not having enough first team players to play. This was because the first team players had gone on strike. If you read the Chester website which I did yesterday when I commented they declined the u23 fixture at home to play 2 away fixtures instead (my own guess is because they’d sell very little tickets playing Bolton u23 at home)

I see Bury have to start at -12 too now. That should (probably) tie up 2 of the bottom 4 already. Sad news for those clubs, but takes some pressure of other teams.

I really hope the game goes ahead. Not been to Bolton before and wouldn't be able to make the midweek game if it was rearranged.

You say all this now but in your original post, which I took issue with, you claimed Bolton didn’t have enough players to fulfil the fixture - period. I corrected you because funnily enough I’m not a mind reader and it’s not really my fault you didn’t communicate properly. Yet your argument was: that’s obviously what I meant. When in reality without expanding upon your post you’ve neglected a crucial piece of information to why it was called off - hence why I replied.

They were discussing the Bolton situation on the Alan Brazil show on Talksport this morning. It sounds even more desperate for them than previously thought and Gordon Taylor was suggesting they may even cease to exist in their current form in the next two months. Very sad situation.
Looks impossible for them to sign any new players in the next two or three weeks.

Does that mean we get a 3-0 win?

Interesting he wants FFP to be enforced more to stop overspending of money that club's don't have.
