First away game. Be interesting when tickets go on sale as due to the mess they are in they haven’t started selling season tickets yet

Also still not concluded the points deduction

Always look forward to the first away game

Hopefully we will not suffer a backs to the wall backlash from them

Only if they don't sign any more players (and have 2 sent off in the opening 10 minutes)

When our fans moan about the state of our club, which has been shambolic at times, they should take a look at Bolton right now.

Absolutely dreadful situation for a really proud and great club

People won't travel to SA with some saying it's too far, but will be wanking themselves silly trying to get an away ticket. Reduce our income and giving it directly to your league rivals seems a great plan.

Everyone’s choice what they do or don’t do squire.
Thought this thread was about the Bolton game and not the right/wrongs of going to St Andrews or not?.

Let’s hope the club does what they did with us fans that stool with them getting a season ticket in league 2 by giving ST holders up to 6 tickets every away game so they never made it general sale

What's the difference between " a supporter " and " a follower " ?

But you are prepared to support through revenue Bolton Wanderers - so i assume you support their ownership model. Many used to brag about going to Blackpool so I assume they all support the vile Oysten?

Ok, what about Ccfc fans who are going away to Ipswich? Do they go there on the basis of the owners being half decent?

Will the game even go ahead. They didn’t play there last 2 championship games and without a full squad of players currently it sounds like they may struggle to fulfil fixtures again.

Every game is away. I thought we weren’t going down the blame route this time ? Perhaps, just perhaps, a day out with 2k cov fans with us against the rest of the stadium is more exciting than a ”home” ticket with 5k others in a 1/4 empty ground that isn’t ours ?

Surely it’s each to their own ?

Well that’s my point - you go to support your team - if you went to Blackpool when the Oystens were in power you have zero issue with owners of football clubs and their conduct can you?

So the same as it's been for the last decade.

exactly. For true away games, its the same as its been for the last decade, where we have had tremendous support, often selling out our allocation.

What has changed is for those who walked / got one bus / meet up with their mates at the local before a "home" game. Their world has changed. I cant see anyone who's historic preference was to go to away games being more excited to go to birmingham than to go to away games where we are in the minority and its a day out. I wouldn't expect away support to dwindle at all this season, if anything it may even increase.

not saying I agree with it, just the way I see it going

Bolton are yet to release season tickets for sale to their own supporters. The way it's going we'll receive our allocation very late, which could impact on numbers a lot. Would be a shame, as it would be good to take a large backing to this game.

That might be the last thing to worry about. If that’s the case, I think they’re in bigger trouble than anybody thought. Our away attendance might be zero, because it might not happen. It’s said above they only have 7 senior players, is that still the same?

Not sure what's happening exactly, but they have played a couple of friendlies and managed to field a senior side. There is a takeover going through by all accounts - so generally I think they are confident they will start the season, but they seem reluctant to release tickets for sale until the takeover is completed. That might be tomorrow, but it might drag on for another week or two, hence the post above, but I don't think there is much danger of the fixture not happening.

Bury on the other hand are in deeeep shit.

Worryingly i think this is the case - there is every chance this game won't happen, certainly wont be sorting travel arrangements just yet...

Edit: just read theferret post, sounds more positive than i thought!

Yeah, I read about their friendly the other day, but it seemed to be saying they had players in there whose contracts have run out and are looking for other clubs, but are still training with them. I hope they sort it out. Bury too.

The incoming owners will see that ticket income as theirs not the current owners, as otherwise the current owners or administrator could just use the cash to pay off debt.

Surely it doesn't matter who goes to home or away matches and why. If they're going to a Cov game, getting behind the lads and helping create a good atmosphere, then who cares why they chose X away game or X home game. We're all Cov fans, and we're all entitled to choice and opinion

None specifically, just in general. I think it's a case of we should all agree to disagree, we all have different opinions. Ultimately, however and wherever you choose to support the club, the point is that you're supporting them. Surely that's what's important

I don’t disagree. However, I think the main point of this thread is the capability of Bolton to fulfil fixtures.

All being well what’s maximum allocation? we could potentially take about 3000 to this one - especially if we get off to a good start

Think they give up to 5k iirc. Don’t think we’ll have the time or the demand to sell that many.

Bolton have today cancelled their friendly with Chester this weekend due to lack of first team players. Not looking good when the season starts in 3 weeks

That's not the reason, although they do have very few first team players. The game was cancelled because Bolton players refused to play as they haven't been payed in 20 weeks.

So it’s exactly what I said then? They can’t play the game due to the lack of first team players to play the game?

Well no it isn't. You're wrong about that. The reason is because they have refused to play. They do have U23's and academy players to fill the numbers - as they did with their pre-season friendly with York.

But it’s only the first team players that have refused to play? The statement today from Bolton was from their first team players. No mention of u23 or academy players refusing to play
