At times yes .. but his defending was very good

His passing in his own half was 88% but then his long ball completion was poor

Ya it was

I'm one of his biggest fans and think based on potential he could be our best CB at the club

But right now if woolf comes in it's likely to be for him over kithcing I would imagine

A clean sheet today and we have maybe best CB duo in the league but kithcing was the better one today by far

On what part? You know I thinks he's class I say it all the time

So about this game I think most would say kithcing was better out of the two today. But could be wrong

Sorry @Evo1883 I can't quote you cos advert under your post

11 from 15 duels 80% aerial won , 12 clearances , 3 interceptions 5 recoveries

Defensively very good today , his long balls which were poor brings his rating down from a great performance

Think he defensively was great.

Only thing is with how much we depend on the CBs to progress the play both of them seemed a bit off it today. Hopefully just rusty

Yes his long ball distribution was iffy .. i wonder if lampard is asking him to trythese longer balls more often as he does them alot more than liam .. would be intesting to know what frank wants from them

Potentially. could we worth trying Kitching distributing them though, Thomas struggles with them a little.

They both appeared to be on it today again both showed their qualities, I particularly liked the one where Bobby was facing his own goal and looking like he wasn't going to block a cross field ball but he stretched his back leg even further back and bingo, reckon spread out laterally 5"or so and kitch there was one in base MF where he was one of their players tussling for the ball and the next thing he was striding away from it with us on the front foot, beautiful.

Yeah amount of blocks today from both centre backs and midfielders was great to see

So much desperation to win

Kitching also unneccesarily hit the ball straight out of play today. At the end of the day they are defenders for a reason, and if they aren't conceding goals we should cut them some slack in respect of misplaced long range passes. It was noticeable that after one such failed pass by Thomas today that Lampard was clapping him and encouraging him for trying the right thing. The nature of such passes are that they are likely to be a bit hit and miss. At the moment neither are likely to be dropped for Woolfenden.

Centre backs were excellent, but there were a couple of times when JDS was left exposed against their winger, that was because EMC didn't do enough to track his man back, that's something Frank needs him to work on.

Also. Its about time Thomas got on the score sheet, we've not had much of an impact from him in the opposition penalty area just lately. I have a feeling he will get his massive head on the end of a set piece on Tuesday.

He's got 3 header assists in the last 4 games. Arguably one should gave gone in as Haji poked it in at Millwall from way offside thankfully not spotted.

Thomas is coming along nicely, It amazing what can happen when you get an ex prem defender breathing down your neck.

Id like to know why he walks away from the celebration at the end though in singers corner - I’ve noticed it a couple of times and today he watched on from the centre circle

We’re clearly playing more long passes this season than last. Obviously, by nature long passes are more speculative with a much higher risk of giving the ball away (but in the opposition’s half) for a greater reward (creating the chance of an assist or a goal).

Today Thomas and Rushworth both gave the ball away several times playing long speculative passes.
How many times did they give the ball away with short passes, close to our goal? Very few.

I suspect that they are doing what they’re told.

I does seem part of the gameplan but both struggled today with their long range passing, but did everything else asked of them.

Do you think his long balls are poor because they keep hitting his knees when he runs?
