I can't remember what lead up to it but at one point in the 2nd half Kitching was was in a No 10 position and headed on a ball to our furthest forward player who was Bobby Thomas but there was too much on the header.

Kitching actually has the potential to score more too, he's got a clean strike on him.

You think there's many better than him? Like who?

He's a good defender, good communicator, good at carry the ball forward, can pass the ball and on top of that, he can score goals.

There's not many CBs in the Championship that tick all those boxes.

This is debatable

Thomas is probably our best CB but it’s an area we need to improve in the summer regardless of what division we are in

Wouldn't swap Thomas for McNally or Dunne personally. Don't think Lampard would either.
Edit. Also, Cashin is at Brighton.

McNally has been one of the best centre halves in the league this year according to whoscored.

So now that weve cut out silly fouls on the edge of the area weve conceded 1 goal in the last 3 games .

Bobby thomas gets flack, but his pass completion rate is now above kitching and he generally sees slightly more of the ball during matches..

May have started slowly but hes been very good last 3 games

My eyes tell me kitching is a much better passer of the ball, they compliment each other well though.

Last season it took us until Boxing Day, half way through the season, to get as many league clean sheets as we have already (3). Keep it up.

Probably because you hear it here or elsewhere that bobby cant pass so often you might just notice every misplaced pass .. fact is he is no worse than liam on the ball

The issues were set piece ones which seems like it's a lot easier to solve than issues in open play defending, which has been pretty solid all season really.
Kitching in particular has been outstanding.

Nothing to do with what’s said on here or anywhere else. Kitching passing through the lines is really good.

Kitching was excellent yesterday and did fantastic to turn and swivel on the ball for the first goal.

I’d agree with posts above that not giving up fouls in stupid parts of the pitch is always going to help.

Tough for Woolf to break into the side now on recent evidence.

It's good he's there. If standards slip you have a good player ready to nick your spot in the team rather than Binks or Lati.

Defence is now where we have the best depth. Real pity we couldn’t add more in the wide attacking positions else we’d be pretty stacked until January

Yeh our defence is fine. No worries at all really. Hopefully we have a couple ready to come in January, we'll of course be a more tempting proposition if we are near the top.

He's played well last 3. Kitching's pass completion was better than Thomas' yesterday though.

Bobby is showing that he is absolutely no worse than liam kitching and over a long period of time eclipses him in most defensive areas and also pass completion .

Thats what the stats say , dont they ?
