The CBs should have the highest in the team really. Giving the ball away 1/5 times (give or take a percentage point) isn’t great.

Depends what kind of passes they are trying to make.

Well no because any CB will mostly play short easy passes between each other and the GK/FB. So their stats are skewed. They need to be good on the ball precisely because they see so much of it. Or they need to quickly move it to people who are.

Correct, did some good stuff coming out of defence today, now Grimes is here he's got the license to do it.

Is he fuck. He couldn't pass wind in a shit house.

Still a great defender though who gives everything and puts his body on the line every week, and scores vital goals!

He needs to be told to just play the simple ball to Grimes, and not to try and bring it out of defence, as that's not his strength.

BTA was the sloppy one, giving the ball away in the middle of the park after he had all the time in the world to pick a forward pass is absolutely unforgivable.
That's not a fault of the defence!

Did anyone else notice BTA drop to the floor with relief when Bobby Thomas scored the winner? That goal got BTA off the hook, otherwise the tit would be getting pelters on here tonight.

Yes I noticed that. Quite strange reaction.

I met him before game and seemed a really nice guy. Maybe he was relieved, just exhausted or just copying the Stoke players around him !

I doubt he'd be exhausted, he'd only been on the pitch for 30 minutes!
It really looked (to me at least) like he was genuinely relieved that his error hadn't cost us the victory.
You can't knock his effort he always gives 100%, but I think we can do better.
To me he's standing in the way of Bassette's development, I think Norman will go on to be a far better player.

There was a game plan from Stoke today to let him try and play the ball out and it very nearly worked, he has scored some big goals though.

Nope he needs to be told to continue trying to pass through the lines because it’s working and he’s a good footballer; which is part of the reason he scores goals, excellent technical ability. Best CB on the ball.

Thomas is a good championship centre half. As is Kitching. Neither are premier league quality but we’re not there yet so both are fine

Appreciate your point about only played 30 minutes but maybe exhausted with the intensity of the situation of what was a really big match.

Yes he isn't anywhere Viktor's level obviously but offers more to the team that Tyler or Waghorn did. He is a useful as, although perhaps expensive, 3rd or 4th choice striker.

I once called him our least shit CB but he’s actually very good and improving all the time. A great buy for the price and a lot more captain material than Sheaf.

I also rate Kitching who we massively overpaid for but it’s no coincidence Thomas looks better next to him.

It looks increasingly nuts that we were playing Lati and Binks as our partnership earlier in the season.

Don't know whether it's been mentioned but is Kitching the left footed centre half and Bobby the right footed one. He absolutely smashed that yesterday with his left. Some strike if it was on his other foot

Did people hear his interview
He was asked if he has been told to get forward he said no
Near the end of the game he just felt it
He said to kitch(his words) I’m going for it and kitch didn’t think he should
He just made it happen
Think robins is being unfair on his defenders no one expects him to hit it like that
The way he shifts it inside is so good and then you’re thinking he won’t volley it but he absolutely laces it
Unbelievable Jeff

You think there's many better than him? Like who?

He's a good defender, good communicator, good at carry the ball forward, can pass the ball and on top of that, he can score goals.

There's not many CBs in the Championship that tick all those boxes.
