Has his doubters , but is one of the teams best performers this season and is the club's 3rd highest goalscorer in the league with 5 goals this season.

For me so much scope to keep improving and is IMHO defensively very solid

Feel that hes somewhat undervalued by some supporters and I dont get that tbh

If he could cut out those silly passes he gives away when he moves forward then he’ll play for Madrid one day.

But they are passes trying to get us forward rather than simple 3 yard passes to another defender , is high risk high reward football always from both him and Liam and thats a good thing .. some defenders absolutely pad their stats with Simple 3 yarders all the time

I get you. But it’s an area if he improves will make him top quality.

We have some still fapping it to McNally. I'll take Thomas all day over him.

Hark back to his first 5 fixtures in a city shirt, and a million quid looked like an absolute steal.

He's still young in CB terms, but I think he'll get a big move in the next season or 2 if we don't go up.

If we went up what would we do?

Trust Kitching and Thomas?

I dont imagine we'd be able to bring in an entire new starting 11 so we'd likely have to keep trying to develop these lads

Imagine we would move on Binks and Lati and sign one premiership experienced CB and another talent.

Tut. What about the bad pass he played that time?

No, no, no. I’d prefer to remember his rare loss of possession because it suits my dodgy narrative.

If he stopped giving the ball away so often, he could be one of the best centre backs in the Championship.

I like him, but he’s definitely earmarked by opposing teams as someone whose passing is erratic.

He gives the ball away far too often and far too easily, and is prone to a lack of concentration.

But boy has he weighed in with some valuable goals. Especially match winning goals like in injury time vs QPR and again today.

He remains one of the first names on the team sheet imo, and is now a major threat at set pieces.

I've been extremely critical of him but honestly think Thomas is the player who has benefitted most from Grimes coming in. Much improved last few weeks.

This is spot on. He tries riskier passes. Played an absolute beauty at one point today. Unfortunately it’s some of the easier ones where he can be sloppy.

Robins knows this can be a weakness and their press focussed on allowing Thomas to have the ball. He’s a wholehearted player though and never hides….might give the ball away but will still try to play through the lines next time

They never work though, the ratio of dangerous give aways to through balls that split the oppo must be 50:1

That’s not the run and little aimless tap as he’s about to get tackled tho. Thats what I’m on about. Him lumping it long is fair enough, even a broken clock is right twice a day. He’s a goal threat and a no nonsense CB, he’s not a ball playing CB.

Agreed Fatso - Thomas's header across goal at Wolves to set up Simms was a thing of beauty.

Do I need to break out his pass completion stats again?

He was once again the outfield player with the lowest pass completion today and of his 12 long balls only 4 were accurate. Which is pretty standard for him from what I’ve seen.

ive got him at 79%:

https://www.whoscored.com/matches/1827788/livestatistics/england-championship-2024-2025-coventry-stoke

And I don’t think Kitching is much better tbh. Overall I want at least one new CB in the summer. Two if we go up

It's like a rush of blood he just to learn to relax in those moments, I'll still take it though thinking back to Leicester away first game last season
