One that is for certain, his agent is desperate for a move.

Great at attacking set pieces so no wonder why the Brentford manager wants him. He’s a young English centre back with good stats and I genuinely think he’d be more difficult to replace than people think.

Could just be us trying to create some buzz of course.

Probably his agent drumming up ‘interest’ to put pressure on the club for a new contract.

i agree with this. remember Harry maguire moved for £80m from (i know he was prem at the time) leicester, theres no reason why thomas couldnt go for a huge amount in a couple of years times.

When he's officially wearing one of their shirts then I'll admit I was wrong. For now all we have is paper talk.

Its in the region of £5m could be £4m with add ons. Considering we sold binks for £2.5m its not much to write home about.

With regard to the transfer fees being asked for other decent Championship standard CB 's that's a laughable offer .

I personally think he’s one of the best in this league. I don’t want him to go, but if we’re selling him then £12 million minimum

Love Bobby Thomas, and we'd need a big signing to replace him. He's got an error in him, but so did Brian Kilcline. I have always liked the Thomas / Kitching partnership, and as their both mid 20's, they will only improve.
Personally, I think he's going nowhere. Frank loves him.

Money, obviously, but under Wilder SU always had a chance of promotion or play offs, with the new guy it doesn't seem to be the same. My concern with SU is they will sack this guy before Christmas and bring Wilder back, then they will be a threat again.

That’d be poetic, selling him back to Burnley for quadruple the fee.

Your probably correct on the current manager but I don't think they'll be back for Wilder.

Assuming your post is sarcasm, while it's not a bad sign a top flight club are looking at him and it will no doubt push a players value up. I would not be quite as convinced as you appear to be that premiership interest automatically means a player is top quality.

Clubs like Brentford have a long list of succesful signings and have had a fantastic transfer model over recent years .

Most clubs are data driven these days and youd imagine they are looking at more than just FBREF to decide if a player is what they need

Id also add that an opinion on SBT doesnt also mean you're a shit player either and there is also the point to make that our very own manager wants him to stay , which is odd if hes shit

He’s mid 20’s with a good few years ahead of him. Why go from top league club to bottom unless the money is ridiculous If Burnley come in for him that’s different but we’ll quadruple what we paid for him. I don’t want him out but we’d need a replacement pdq if he wrnt

The point is that there is clearly interest around the lad

A great age still to develop around 3 -5 years off his prime years , has absolutely loads of growth in him in terms of maturing and learning

Actual prem interest is pretty much the best indicator you can get that a player is good, no?

Or are random forum users better than all the scouts and analysts those clubs employ?

If we let Bobby go then we would need an immediate replacement.
Other clubs would know that we only have 10 days and would likely put their prices up, meaning we would probably lose much of the profit gained.

Don't think it's either or tbh. Of course forums are full of armchair experts giving their opinions on the football players they watch for 40+ games a season. But also just because a Premier league team want to make a bid it doesn't automaticlly mean your a top player. Newcastle brought Gail Bigirimana from us on the recommendations of their scouting team, to use a Coventry based example (there are many more) so while I think premier league interest is a very good indicator it doesn't mean everything.

I like Thomas but he's nowhere near PL level. Brentford and Burnley must be desperate, or preparing for next season in the championship.

I'm surprised they aren't going for Charlie Hughes given how highly rated he is on SBT.

I believe the rule is Hull cannot buy or pay a loan fee for the next two transfer windows.

Perhaps as an idea we can buy Hughes and loan them Perry for free for the season?

Helps Hull with a replacement and the cash and would likely mean Perry would get more minutes this season there than he would with us.

Win win

If Perry is good enough to play for Hull he’s good enough to stay here.

Not if we want to get promoted, we need better than what we have to close the gap.

I would say loan them Lati for free but his experience and versatility could be valuable if we pick up injuries.

Perry needs first team minutes and if a club can’t make signings and we could offer him on loan for free where he’d be closer to first team minutes than he would here then it’s a solution to a problem they have.
