We’re one of a number of clubs interested in a loan move for the talented Liverpool CM youngster

Liverpool won’t rush decision over Bobby Clark’s future

Liverpool are in no rush to make a decision on Bobby Clark’s future in the face of strong interest from Red Bull Salzburg. The 19-year-old midfielder missed the current tour of the US due to a back problem but has since returned to training with the club’s under-21s at Kirkby. Austrian side...

As long as we only play him when we choose. Could be Ayari.

Agreed.

With Rudoni and Torp capable of playing 10 signing Clark would enable Palmer to move on

He’s a step above Ayari. Would be a good addition.

When Klopp was playing all the youngsters last season, he looked like the best of them.

I have watched him a few times, he is a really good player and a loan would work for him at this stage. Liverpool have a bunch of top players young players but Clark is up there with them all.

I'd be very surprised if they are willing to let him go, he's very highly rated and they've already turned down a £6m offer.

He would look good at championship level this season, and we play a good brand of attacking football, so we could be in with a good chance.

Although I'm not sure Doug is too keen on developing other teams players.

This is the sort of opportunity that would make all the difference. Would much rather we went for this than spend a couple of million on a second choice right back.

Good player, have learned to never get excited when we are one of loads of teams "linked" in an article

You'd expect that recruitment earmark loans too, based on value... tougher to do in some ways but upsides are obvious.

This instead of Madsen? Or only if Vik doesn't get sold?

He's played ok in other games in a more central role, Today just told us what we know and that is he isn't the answer on the left wing

Harsh.

Lose Rudoni to injury and we have a problem, EMC could maybe slot in there, but if that doesn't work Palmer is the only one who has the same creativity in the middle of the park to fill in.

And no one questioned his ability vs Wolves in the cup last season.

MalcSB was talking about Ayari, not Palmer.

But, I agree Palmer can still do a job in a central role. He's definitely a bench warmer now though, not a starter.

Palmer and Allen are probably replacements realistically, so you only have the 4 to choose from in the middle, and as Sheaf is still not fit they basically pick themselves at the moment.

If he would part of the Vik deal, IE in lieu of our share of the deal not so sure but that's another story.

I like Kasey, he's "almost" a fantastic player but it was clear today that wide left is not his position, got to be Haji or Emc on the wide left (is it just me that thinks Emc is left side or nothing ?), Kasey will be used from the bench if he stays beyond the transfer window.
Regarding Bobby Clark, great prospect, it will be very late in the transfer window if we get him on loan.l won't be holding my breath tbh because it would be an expensive loan fee for a player we won't (potentially) Profit from, not Doug's m.o. I'm afraid.

It's not his M.O........ but he's also smart enough to realise that not utilising the loan market last season cost us another crack at the playoff's

You must have been watching very closely. Ayari played even less minutes there than he did here, wasn’t even in the squad for 3 games and his knob failed to score any goals. It looks as if Blackburn found him even more underwhelming than we did.

I was responding to a post about Ayari. I actually like seeing Palmer play, but he was pretty poor first half but was better second half. Whilst people have said it was deploying him on the left wing that was the problem, to me it was stuff that usually seems basic to him - like controlling the ball and beating a player - that just didn’t seem to happen in the first 45 minutes. Is that so position dependent?

Yeah, he wasn’t at his best yesterday. But he did well in the Everton game when he came on. The thing he does well is get on the front foot, facing goal. However, yesterday, the ball was played to him a lot with his back to goal and 2-3 players tight to him and that just isn’t his thing.

In a different way I think Torp could play as the 10.

Less erratic / creative than Palmer but more likely to play the right weighted pass for a forward and his finishing is much better than Palmer.
