The only way you confront and argue down things like racism and suchlike is by seeing it for what it is and arguing against it. At least you know where extremism is, running away from things doesn't fix it. I couldn't tell you who my mate I have been mates with since I was 5 votes for. I have no interest in it, we never go to the pub and talk about politics. It's the same as money / wages etc, that sort of shit is very minimal.
