Clarke not starting tomorrow can work in our favour, especially at home to a team whos gameplan will be be to park the bus and break as quickly as possible. Clarke is most effective in away games when we sit back more and soak up pressure and he has more time and space up front to run down the channels, hold the ball up and lay of to breaking wingers and chasing down centre backs. At home he simply gets constantly crowded out by defenders and sitting midfielders
Without him tomorrow there will be much more emphasis on Baker, McSheffery moussa etc to shoot from distance, not expecting us to score 3 30 yard screamers but shooting though a crowded area, that we regularly face at home, will result in deflections past their keeper or the ball dropping to one of our players in the area, hopefully mcdonald.
Ever the optimist expecting a win by at least a couple of goals tomorrow!!
If we serious about playoffs best to rest Clarke and make sure he's recovered for the remaining games. It sounds like he took the knock before last sat game, maybe that was the broken leg story, there was some substance behind it.
