Not here to cause aggro...

Just wanted to seek your opinions on John Fleck...

Flecky (as he’s now affectionately known) has been an absolute gem for us, not sure how he was only 3rd choice for Cov...? Any insight on this?

He controls our midfield, puts stop to potentially dangerous attacks, comes up with the odd goal, passes very well and is genuinely one of the best United players I’ve had the pleasure to watch in many a year. He’s been a big factor in our ascendancy to the top half of the Champ.

Can’t believe you lads let him go.

He wasn’t third choice at City. He was a key player.. he was offered a new deal but wanted Championship football and more money ... felt UTD had more chance of promotion.

He wasn't let go, unfortunately he chose you over us! We had a contact on the table for him but we couldn't match the wages you were offering. He was our star man in midfielder, he was never 3rd choice. Only when he initially came from Rangers was he down the pecking order but he was young and raw at the time and we were playing him in the completely wrong position if memory serves.

He wasn’t 3rd choice for us. Automatic starter for most of his time here apart from his first season when he found it difficult to adjust from Scotland and was played too far forward. As soon as Presley moved him to the q.v. role he became our most gifted player.

Didn’t win us many games tho but was obvious he cd do a job in a higher league

Probably the best player we've had since our relegation to L1 IMO. Technically brilliant and a classy footballer. Was always going to be a struggle to keep him - glad to see he's doing well. Should be in the Scotland squad before long.

Its simple sums , you offered more pay and a better challenge , he was never 3rd choice and we never let him go, he went himself. Take note he will leave you if a better offer comes along like anyone else would.

Apologies, maybe I was thinking from when he first joined you then.

He should definitely be considered for the Scotland CM role but at the moment it’s probably helped us that he hasn’t been.

I’m not sure what he’s on with us but it won’t be big bucks...we have a wage policy in place which is something Wilder has instigated and something which in the past has fucked us up due to the lack of one and us attracting prem journeymen and has-beens looking for a retirement fund.

He was good for us at times, he looks to have come on further under you. Looks leaner and drives forward with the ball more. He couldn't really get a game when Robins was in charge first time around, but he wasn't in great shape at the time and wasn't used in his best position.

And that sums you Blades fans up, sorry mate but their was a bigger picture than worrying about your club that day, our existence and homelessness is still on the line today. Every other club apart you lot had joined in with our protests. So on that note, Sheff Utd fans will always go down as scum to us/me.

You started singing SISU IN before the protest even started.

Of course football fans would be worried about their own team and their own result. If we went to a game and the opposition were trying to fuck the game up we would be pissed off as well.

They sang a song about we love you SISU, I have heard our fans sing that Bradford is just a town full of .... and she said yes Marlon. Not all of our fans granted.

In the end the protest backfired, so they took the piss even more about it. Again, which is what we would do as well.

That's the thing, I doubt half of them knew who SISU were but did it to take the piss out of the opposition fans.

It was as if they had been round to people's houses beating up city fans in their sleep the way people went on about it.

I am bothered about the result of every game surprisingly enough as a football fan. I am pretty sure the Sheffield United fans were as well.

What good came of it? Last I heard SISU are still in? I couldnt make the game but was hugely embarrassed watching on TV

They may well have, they may well be massive bellends. If they had spat at young CCFC fans it's different to singing a song to wind up opposition fans.

I liked Fleck but felt he should have chipped in with more goals, I was expecting him to do for us what Charlie Adam did for Blackpool that season. Admittedly based on little more than them both sharing circumstances than anything more technical. If he'd scored that one from nearly halfway on the televised game though that would have been the only goal I'd need.

At the time with us he never really picked much of a pass, he had it in his locker but reminded me a bit of Kelly where it would be to the full back. I think for Sheff Utd he got a fair amount of assists.

Anyway back to the question.... Fleck when he could be arsed was quality but he did disappear from games maybe this was down to fitness but glad he's upped his game ...

The protest was never going to get rid of SISU was it? That's a big stretch mate, what it did do though for a couple of months is made our plight not only nationwide, but worldwide. Our plight was then covered by SSN, talksport e.c.t, all of who had great sympathy for our fans, yet some of our fans were more bothered about how embarrassed they felt by it. I guess that sums us up too.

Protest didn't back fire it was never about fuckING up sufc ,was it. We got the publicity we wanted. Never about the result of that perticular game just happened to be them on that night.
