I've got to give Lampard credit to how he's transformed the form of players like EMC and Kitching, who look different beasts now.

EDIT: And for playing Dovin. Why he was dropped in the first place I have no bloody idea.

Dennis who likes to remind Rob every week he phones in that he got told off for swearing live on air even though he didn’t.

Some absolute whoppers who phone up.

Really don’t agree we look solid at the back with five. Dovin has kept us in it last two and we still are far too easy to cut open.

Frank comes across reality well, intelligent chap and not getting carried away. Think even with some tough results he’s settled better than most expected. -Christine Lampard

Thank the coaches he's brought in mate, Lampard is nothing without them, similar to Robins without Ady and Lawrence.

It's Lampard making the decisions no doubt, but we have to give credit to Lampard for the coaches he's brought in.

The style of play has been shite, our defence isn't good enough, but 3 centre backs we are making it a nightmare for opposing teams to find a way, mainly because Dovin is actually fucking quality.

Dovin is our best player, convinced of this. If he carries on this way, we have a 15 mil player in keeps.

We are a long way from looking defensively strong, but I still think we look miles better than we do with four!

Great second half and a proper team performance.

Be interesting to see whether this is the catalyst to bring in players this window and have a real push for the play offs or wait for the summer.

I think if we beat Watford then King has no real choice but to back him this window!

Turn out Lampards connections are a couple of dodgy blokes down the pub that’ll nurdle oppo players for us.

Have to say I find this persistent belief that it’s the coaches who are secretly responsible for every success and failure at this club to be very weird

Two teams in the top half dispatched in 4 days. Need to go for a third at Watford and keep chipping away.

They all played well tonight, they're reasonable to good players individually. We played a high line tonight which is risky and the odd time got exposed in behind, one of them was MVE dropping too deep. Between the 4 players that were on they defended well.

Yep, fair play to the coaches too.

We are now hard to defeat, just one defeat in seven and that was due to the late collapse at Norwich. Defenders now know what they're doing and when they fail, we've got a keeper who has a good chance of saving the day for us.

So refreshing from the earlier games where we were letting in stupid goals for fun.

I think it means Dovin has gone up a level this year. At least two quality saves to keep us in it. Collins in goal last two and we lose I think. But keeping clean sheets always gives you a chance to shithouse a goal like we did first half.

Don’t think so. When our keeper is MOTM then it suggests our defence was pretty weak.

Should put this in the positives about Lampard thread but I do think we’re starting to see his impact on individuals. Torp, Simms, Kitching all playing well at the moment.

Weren't really any gilt edged chances.

We are a bit too open when ahead but the good saves weren't from brilliant chances. Blackburn xG was 0.98 to 2.73 for us!

Yeah but BTAs goal was 0.98 on its own

Edit: and another 0.94 was Simms touch just before. That’s not normally counted

First half they could have easily been two up before we scored let’s be honest. Everyone is giving our keeper MOTM and we had a goal line clearance from BTA. We weren’t solid at all.

Theyre 20th and 17th in the 6 game and 10 game form tables respectively, we're 6th and doing pretty well at home.

Got to be hopeful of 3 points in this one.

Is that actually an assist?

Surely it's a Simms goal that took a deflection off bta?

Blackburn had 1 big chance. To go away from home and give away only one big chance is solid. Systemically the defence were a bit exposed because of the high line but they defended very well or solidly.

Did you watch the first half or are you just going off stats? I’m not sure we won a single header in our box first 45.

I watched it, can you point me to the times we were cut apart? Their better moments generally came from set pieces.

Several times second half we were done by a simple ball into the channels. We recovered but it was far too easy. First half they were coming down our left in particular at will at times.
