I’m happy Blackburn is on a Friday night personally, I’ve got the date off as annual leave already.

True, but their 3 games for the price of two offer may have scuppered things? Although Boro have sold out their allocation of 7396 or there abouts for Saturday’s game.

Could this 3 for 2 offer be because they are planning on inflating the cost of matchday tickets for our game to gouge us without breaking the rules of home fans paying different prices to away fans? Not sure if this is possible and I'm just being mega cynical. Hopefully someone with knowledge can correct me!

Would not make a difference - I don't think that end at Blackburn has housed home fans since they were in the Premier League, I am confident if we request the whole end we will get it

Lots of options for us. Actually there is a bus goes there from Bury (Bury Spoons! ) but takes ages. Also number one from Bolton. Of course easy from Victoria direct by train.

Surprisingly it’s £15 in a uber from my house to Blackburn. So train from Manchester and Uber home I’m thinking

People saying they don’t mind

‘How we gonna get there I don’t know, how we gonna get there I don’t care’… Except if it’s at that ground or when we’re not playing….
Have some of us really become that entitled that we want a bespoke finale should we win promotion?
I can’t believe this!
I’d still settle for a ‘deflection off a defenders backside’ type of decision as long as it meant promotion.
“Not gonna celebrate cos it’s a Monday evening and so and so only drew 0-0”

Mate it's not entitled to want to actually win promotion when we are in the ground when it happens. No-one is saying that they won't celebrate if it happens on a day we aren't playing. But no-one can deny that it wouldn't be awesome for it to be after a game we have played in. Especially after what happened in League 1

Hotel prices for the Friday have started shooting up, my pal booked into the travel lodge as soon as they announced the change in kick off and it already looks to have jumped £20.

Thats a good deal for an Uber. Lots of options, positive now as was worried for Sat game about getting a ticket despite the likely 7k allocation.

Been to Ewood quite a a lot of times, some highs and some real lows. Biggest low was losing in FA cup in 1980 when they were in level 3 and we had beaten Liverpool in front of 31K week before. We had not beaten that home crowd until very recently.
Seen a few thrashings there. The 2-5 midweek win in 1992 was a highlight for me, last fans to stand on the old Darwen end.
''Super Ben Wilson' moment was good too plus an away win in cup in 'Darren and Noel' days .

No one there of course but we got a very important draw 1-1 draw in covid season in championship. I was nearby and was in Darwen that afternoon climbing up to the Darwen tower, so 'kind-off' went to the game!

That 5-2 was 1993. Played in January. Did they not wait until the end of the season until they knocked the place down?

Thanks indeed it was early in 1993 in 92/93 season. I think maybe they were keen to get on with the rebuild of stadium ASAP. Pretty sure we were last ever fans in that part of the old design of Darwen end.

I didn’t know that.
A glorious victory it was!
Probably the only time at an away ground when I never had to queue for a HT pee.
Enormous toilet block!

I have booked in at the Willows on the Friday night.
If anyone wants to share a few pints and perhaps a taxi to and from the ground can you DM me?
My son has said I should point out he will be with me.

We can make it now it’s Friday. Selfish, sorry! Plus people with lower loyalty points have a chance of tickets. I think it’ll still sell out.

I can remember listening to that 5-2 away win in 92/93 on Radio 5 and Alan Green remarking “that it was a hilarious result…even the policeman is laughing at along with it” and various other put downs. I was so incensed the 16 year- old me wrote a letter to 90 Minutes magazine complaining about him.

Do I win the award for the most 1990s post today?

He was mocking our following calling it pathetic and our performance as we won 5-2. I think our local radio had a problem with broadcasting so they had the 5live commentary which is why a lot of City fans were incensed

Ah, that must have been why I was listening to R5 commentary. Always used to listen to CWR/ Mercia - I can remember when they only used to have the 2nd half live!

I actually warmed a bit more to Green as I got older. Used to listen to his co-comms with Mike Ingham for the England games and turn off the TV commentary.

It was a great game, more so for those who were there like me. I think if Blackburn had won they would have gone top.

Currently sulking as my wife has said we can’t go as she is away with our daughter and doesn’t want my older son to be along so long while I take our younger son.

Me too. Then an early flight from Manchester. Really enjoyed staying in the hotel next to Fratton Park earlier this season - great atmosphere with all the Cov fans having drinks after the game.
