Fair play Frank Lampard, you’ve got this bunch of players who we all on SBT thought were spineless ‘nice guys’ to show passion and grit.
Every one of them today showed a bit of bite to match their bark, Thomas annihilated that guy by the 4th official, Rudi was getting onto it with Larouci, Bidwell using his experience to wind them up, and Dovin booting the ball at Bayo which could have been a stupid move but didnt play out that way and was winding both Watford players and fans up.
There is only a few examples of it, but Lampard has brought this bunch of players together and shown them how to dig deep and plant their feet in the ground and show their passion and fight for the badge, if we dont go up this year (which is now an actual possibility) then we could be firm contenders from the off next year.

Lampard has more influence and has picked better coaches. Like Robins but FL is a different level, in my opinion

It helps if you have coaches who actually want to work with the manager as well.

I thought this yesterday too. Under Robins we were a nice, honest footballing team.

Now we seem to be a footballing team that continues to play attractive football, but we'll bite back if needed.

I'm not big on praising Lampard too much this soon, but he did say in a very early interview that the physical side was something they were working on. Credit where it's due.

Lampard pin pointed battles on the pitch and defensive line and his priorities and has done a great job with both

Not bad for a manager only hired for his name eh?..

Was thinking exactly same yesterday.

It’s a massive shift in team ethos.

We’re not just laying down taking it-like the Pompey game where they were putting in some juicy challenges and just wanted it more.

Couple of things I liked from the game was Bassette joining in when Rudoni got pushed over while he was warming up.

When Bobby smashed Wayne Andrew son near benches BUT crucially if you watch it back Kitching is right there and rather than piling in he picks Bobby up and moves him away.

There were a couple of examples of this with Lats and Eccles (when Bidwell was not having it) this points to not losing our heads at crucial moments but a concentrated aggression when players are in control.

Really does bode well for the future.

Some of the threads on here were embarrassing

Might dig out the ones where people genuinely wanted to sell the whole team for pennies

And the ones where they said they have never personally hates a group of players so much

Anything to deflect from coaching issues

Thomas made a challenge second half where he took the ball and cleared out the man in a way that reminded me of Callum Doyle against Sakamoto earlier in the season. Great ‘let him know you’re there’ moment

Never thought I'd ever see Allen "put his foot in" but fair play to him for getting stuck in.

The best part? It wasn’t even his best tackle, when he flattened their #8 in the middle of the pitch was just great see.

Was Rudoni kicked in the ankle that caused the shove, thought he was lucky not to get a card but also thought actually good reffing …also thought it was A yellow if you obstructed a goal kick similar to standing in front of a throw in ..
agree we’re definitely showing more steel…
that Watford twat who went down on the wing for god knows how long then got up like nothing happened…embarrassing

Wish people would stop attributing their thoughts to everybody. I honestly don't think the players have ever looked spineless, people just seem to lose their sanity whenever we lose a game.
