Looks like we’ve got a fixture in a week or so (12/10/21) against AFC Wulfrunians (who I admit I’ve never heard of).

I don’t understand why we don’t take this cup as a bit of an opportunity and have a go and also have a bit of a jolly.

It’s a great opportunity for some of the fringe players to have a match which is at least a bit competitive - almost like we treated the Checkatrade (early rounds).

Ben Wilson, JJ, Bright, Rus, Tavares etc. - promote the games properly and I think the club would be shocked at with how big the turn out could be. (The younger players would benefit from playing in front of a crowd I think.)

With the atmosphere around the Club as positive as it is, I could see us take 1000 to the likes of Sphinx or the Butts to watch Cov Utd V Cov City or whatever.

We used U.K. regularly get over 1000 at HR for reserve team matches so I think the potential is there.

For me personally, I think there are more people who would want to go and watch the JJ’s and Bright’s and promising kids play a competitive match at some tight non league ground where there’s often a pub joined on on a midweek night than the Club realises.

I probably go to an away tie if it were a sqaud similar to what we field for u23 games.

Wouldnt bother if it was played at CBS (doubt it would be anyway).

AFC Wulfrunians were in the same league as Sphinx a few years ago when I was involved there. Wolverhampton based team

I understand the OP's sentiment... But we're going weekend/midweek with regularity now. So I cannot see this as feasible as like the Leamington pre-season fixture when we have had 2 (or 16 last time!) months off from going.
