Just me that thinks he looks the part?

Doesnt get beaten very often, on the floor or in the air, has some pace, great distribution, solid in the tackle and calm on the ball

I really like him. And it makes MR's choice to spunk 4 million on Kitching even more weird. Maybe he didn't think Binks would be as good as he is?

For me our best back 3 when all fit is Lats, Fadz, Binks

I think everyone has said he looks the part. So no not just you. Been good since he came in, but as you would expect from someone who is still learning the game makes some odd decisions but overall looks a good acquisition.

Although how you can be so definitive i don't know as you haven't actually seen Kitching play for us yet outside of 15 minutes last night where he didn't do anything wrong really. Fadz is 37 in February. We had to start planning for his age catching up to him before it does. We are now in a position where we have 3 CB's at good ages that we own. You recruit players that are available to you at that moment. It wasn't as if we signed Kitching instead of another player. We just couldn't get any targets over the line. So why is it weird? It wasn't 4 million up front. You said yourself it was 2.5 million.

Agree with all of that, even came close to scoring too. He was accountable for the goal we conceded at QPR in my view but by and large he has basically looked like what we wanted from Kitching but for far less money.

We don't know what money he'd go for yet. Playing like this the numbers may well be going up, which is an obvious issue with loan players.

I hope so but no mention so I'll assume not until we hear otherwise.

Could Binks or Kitching play central ? Both look good moving with the ball.

I've been really impressed with him, definitely need to make it a permanent deal, once MVE returns I think we'll see some cross field balls into space for him to attack.

Looks a really good player, and probably the reason why Doyle and McNally don't get mentioned any more on here.

numerous times last night he jsut cleared the ball into touch, no fancy feet trying to keep the ball in, just get it out and stop the attack, really good

I think more than most of the back line maybe Fadz aside he knows when to hoof and when to play and when to drive forwards. Been really impressed with his decision making. Has a mistake in him as all our defenders do, but I like him a lot.

Maybe we know Binks is not available on a permanent deal so we're planning ahead with Kitchen?

I think any of the new lads could play the central role to be honest.

I wonder if the long term Fadz replacement is already at the club or if we haven't found him yet.

Assuming Binks isn't here next season then a back three of Lats - Thomas - Kitching would be solid after a season of playing together and learning off Fadz.

He’s been a fantastic signing and his decision to go abroad to actually play football has definitely served him well - he looks very assured for his age.

I still fancy Lats long term role will be CDM, Thomas does need to up his game though. Lats at CDM imo could be ideal aswell as good on the ball he covers either of our wing backs.

Do you think repeating things enough times of a forum makes them more likely to happen?

Despite Robins coming out and saying that is not where he intends on playing him (he would in an emergency of course consider it) when sheaf and Eccles are fit does he start above them? No. We will clearly look to fill the other whole in the midfield and it won't be with a CB played out of position.

David Alaba has played number 10 and left wing for Austria. He has probably 400+ appearances as a left back/centre back. He is not a winger/number 10, but in poor international teams, of which Austria and Jamaica are, you play better players in areas of the pitch they can influence, especially if you have more depth in their original position than their proposed position.

He does, not sure why a positive post about one player needs to be an unfounded criticism of another

Has some kind of collective delusion occurred on this forum with this Lati at CDM nonsense?

He’s never played there at club level. And if Robins isn’t playing him there with Sheaf AND Kelly injured he never will.

Wouldn't say its unfounded, We've had Kitching for 6 weeks now after spending a pretty penny on him and he cant get in the side.

Hindsight's a wonderful thing of course but looking back a CM instead of Kitching would have been the signing we should have made

I think Lati should be at CDM on Saturday but that is just because of the extent of our injuries. His best position by far is in defence.

But as has been said a number of times I doubt that was the decision. We tried to sign both but could only get Kitching deal done

Too early to judge him but would be shocked if he doesn’t turn out to be decent

It wasn't an either or thing. Robins has come out multiple times now and said we were trying to get midfielders but they fell through. If we hadn't got Kitching we still wouldn't have got a CM

Incredible we are writing off Kitching after 15 minutes of football. Binks didn't get a sniff for the first 5/6 weeks.

Think he's great. First saw him in an U21 game at the Higgs last month and he showed the same commitment he does in first team games.

He was at fault for the QPR goal on Saturday, but it is easy to forget just how relatively inexperienced he is.

Wouldn't be disappointed to see us try and sign him permanently.

You can argue we spent too much on Kitching, i won't be doing so yet as we literally have no idea. You can argue we should have bought in at least one CM, i'd strongly agree with that and its biting us harder every week. But there is no connection between the 2 whatsoever... there is plenty of money left to have done both, and more tbh.

I like Binks and tbf i'm really happy with all our defensive signings in the transfer window.

Lati looks class and can cover a few position
Thomas has his moments but drives forward and is a bit no nonsense
Binks also gets forward and seems to win most duels - shame its a loan
Kitching - looked ok so far, think he will come good
Da Silva i think is our most consistent player and seems to do everything well
Milan looks quality

add Fadz to that lot and we are set, i think top 4 of those can all cover the Fadz role if needed as well

Can we all agree there’s no way he should have gone for the switch Hollywood ball over to Lati with that free kick in our own half in the second half though?

Think someone put a link up on here when we first signed him and there was a bit from Mourinho on him when he was at Spurs and he rated him extremely highly which is telling.

Certainly looks a player.

Good players create space to give themselves time. Binks does this particularly well - and knows when to hoof
