At the end of the day if he is HIV+ no one has mocked him for it, just the opposite in fact. Everyone has posted in a concerned and supportive manner. Well almost everyone. Someone couldn't help but unnecessarily put the boot in and mock his footballing ability which after all are good enough to earn him a wage.

I assume it was meant to be funny as it clearly wasn't clever. Timing is everything in comedy so it failed on that level too as it was immensely ill timed considering it seriousness of what's being discussed.

I think this is one of the best threads on here for a long time. The reason I say that is I am proud you guys care. Care and football usually don't mix but I think the argument between a few of you is personal and not because of the issue. Bigi is a nice guy not because of his footballing ability but he is genuine. For people to say he is HIV, me included, is a human response. Me don't mean anything nasty it's just our inquisitive minds.
Thank you Nick for keeping the thread going and for contributing so well.
I think EVERYONE cares about Bigi and I for one will be praying for him.

I never said he has? I said if ? I also said "something like..."

He could have anything.

I was interested to know what's the FA's ruling on HIV+ players? Is there one?

Didn't they bring in the blood rule where they have to change their shirt and can't be on the pitch when bleeding etc because of it?

No it was deliberate to see the "faux pas" outrage that would have ensued.

It is also worth pointing out that in some media outlets the mystery illness is accompanied by inverted commas. Some journalists are sceptical.

Full of shit as usual I see. Or are you saying that it is the first time you have had a go at Bigi or anyone who likes him as a player or person?

I am surprised that you never accused anyone of insinuating that he is homosexual.

I would doubt very few if any on here know him as a person and given the moral transience of the Coventry fans it's hardly a character reference anyway.

As for the other comment he already has had to publically denounce the rumours he has hepatitis C for obvious reasons.

Actually I think it's all rather tasteless to speculate on forums as stupid unfounded comments are made. We've had it before with other threads like Garry Speed and his suicide. This is compounded by the actual club he has gone from and to.

So you thought it was a good idea to have a dig at a player with what looks to be a serious illness just so you could wind people on a forum up? And now saying that some journalists have doubts doesn't make you look any less of a c**t.

Is it your aim in life to wind people up or be the biggest WUM? If so well done.

I'm not having a go at the player.

What comments do you think he'd find offensive:

He's got Hiv
He came here when 12 to get free medical treatment for HIV?
He's got Aids
He's got Ebola
He's not a great footballer

As for the journalist comment I was saying ready he's had to denounce rumours of hepatitis C and also has journalists saying its a dubious story.

The point therefore is that such things are not in my view appropriate to discuss.

Another example was stories of Nikki Sinclaire when posters like you sneered and mocked her due her transgender. I'm sure those comments were far more distressful and hurtful than if someone has said they were a crap politician.

Didn't he open a hairdressers in the city centre when he was here, or have I completely made that up?

You tried to make out that he isn't playing because he is shit and not because of an illness.

Christ you are really are thick - no I didn't.

You also conveniently overlooked the points made in the post.

I have a view that issues such as this should not be discussed in a public forum.

I have on occasions before stated this. The Sinclaire thread where people like you indulged in a bit of transphobic "banter", the Gary speed thread which quickly descended to innuendo and speculation as to the motivation behind his suicide and even on a thread regarding Anne Lucas due to the absolute absurd abuse received regarding Marlon King.

There is nothing to discuss here is there? No one knows anything. Unfortunately for the player the fact he moved from Newcastle to Rangers means that there will be cynical reaction on one hand while on the other hand the rumour mill goes down the route of thinking it must be an illness that still attracts stigmatiscm. So already he's had to say it's not one illness that's been doing the internet rounds.

So let's speculate on a few more. Someone said its like being concerned about a colleague in the office. Is it? He's got a blood illness - I've heard it's HIV, I've heard it's AIDS I've heard it's Ebola - seem to suggest a greater interest in gossip around the illness than concern for the individual.

I've never said anything detrimental to the individual as a person why would I? I wouldn't want an illness to be serious but to suggest it is again adds fuel to the internet fire.

It's clear he doesn't want people discussing it so I won't thanks.

As far as I'm concerned, this is how this played out and I shall say no more about it after this:

The OP speculated (as did the newspaper article from which it came) rightly or wrongly, about the nature of GB's illness.
That thread was not, and obviously still has not been, deleted by the moderator which clearly indicated that he views it (despite his later remarks) as perfectly appropriate for this forum.
I responded to that thread with a suggestion as to a possible reason why a player would not be allowed to play a team sport in Scotland. The possible reasons are clearly very limited and I merely mentioned that one before anybody else. This was not intended to be malicious and I was aware that the thread was intended to express concern for the lad.
You added a post that I thought was a little mean (no more than that) and I expressed that. This, by the way, was nothing to do with disagreeing with any post of yours as I'm sure you will agree that I share many of your views.
Nick decided that discussion of GB's health was every bit as wrong as the remark you had made (despite the fact he had failed to remove it and so tacitly at least, approved of it) and some debate ensued.
Having watched this unfold you decided it would be your interest to claim that it had all been a big experiment and that you had posted deliberately to provoke a reaction, thereby portraying yourself in a favorable light rather than that of someone putting the boot in at an unfortunate moment. Understandable perhaps, but a little cowardly.

It actually said "HIV?". The question mark being quite important but we know from past experience that you either don't understand what a question mark is or you deliberately ignore them so you can make out someone was making a statement rather than asking a question.

Yes, but I mean, can they stop players playing?

Like if a player came out publicly and said I'm HIV+, would he/she still be allowed to play?

Hardly. I have an excellent record on here regarding defending individuals and groups on here when atracked by the bigots on here. You know, like when you sneered about Sinclaire and her balls being removed.

You are an absolute joke sometimes. Anyone that works for CCC is seen by you as a target to insult. Anyone who has a different view to yourself and picks you up on false accusations you make is a bigot. You change what you say about SISU as we go along to either defend them or try to make them sound better. And that is just for starters. You are even having a go at someone who shares a lot of your views on this thread. You won't listen to anyone.

How about having a rethink on who is the bigot. Although you won't get the right answer as you never admit to being wrong even on the times that you are 100%.

Seems the uneducated bilge which fester on this forum have jumped to their own conclusions regarding HIV. Those a little smarter than the average bear would consider that it's something like Dengue Fever or West Nile Virus. To jump to a discussion on UKIP only serves to prove you all to be scared little islanders with closes minds.
