silva makes sense as he plays brand everton fans wantSad really, no love for the guy but bringing in silva who was at Watford seems bizarre too. Both Moyes and Big sam have done a job for their clubs but clearly they want more. Managers don’t get enough time anymore
Yeah, smaller scale Man Utd with the same problems. Like the Lottery winner who buys lots of expensive tat that doesn't complement the other stuff they've boughtThey've been wasting money, players etc since the takeover.
Never needed such a large turnover in players as they've had, some true talents blown there.
Doesn’t mean it will fit the players and system though?silva makes sense as he plays brand everton fans want
Too true, young lads pushing through now hardly get a look inThey've been wasting money, players etc since the takeover.

thats why he has a summer to make moves in windowDoesn’t mean it will fit the players and system though?
pardew and lambert saved the day.....Basically West ham and Everton owners appoint "sexy" foreign coaches to keep fans happy.
These coaches fail then it's the old reliable managers that step in to save the day.
Job done and on yer bike and same owners begin search for new "sexy" foreign coach to start the process again.
Odds on BFS replacing another failed "sexy" coach next Jan / Feb pretty decent.
But has silva been at a club for more than a year? hardly a polished CV but I hope he does well as I like Everton. The issue is that virtually every club in the prem expects to be a top 10 side and when it doesn't happen the manager gets the bullet. Everton finished 8th so they are going to have to go some to top that in my opinion.pardew and lambert saved the day.....
stop the xenophobia. we have some good managers but very few play expansive football and thats what fans want these days. eddie howe, brenden rogers and mowbray only 3 that play great football? lol
some froeign managers fail just like some birtish managers do. some foreign managers succeed just like some british managers do.
they key here is everton and west ham dont want to be safe and reliable but having fans not wanting to watch games. thats football today, i know i dont enjoy going ricoh as much these days even though im a fa of robins, but compared to mowbray days its just not as exciting even if we are "better"
if everton appointed eddie howe many on this forum would be orgasming, but as its silva and he wasnt born in this country hes just another foreign manager who will fail. look at what hes done in portugal, with hull and watford, yes 1 got relegated and other ended badly after he publically courted to go everton and it broke down but the guy imo has something about him, i think everton will do well.
they started season as top 4 outsiders due to their spend, big things were expected. now or never for them perhaps if they want to become a big big team in world footballBut has silva been at a club for more than a year? hardly a polished CV but I hope he does well as I like Everton. still got a long way in my opinion but again it all depends on what the rest do. A lot of teams have to spend big to compete with Man City. Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea will spend big, Spurs probably wont but will still be up there. I think its about who you can attract to the club as we know that Europe is virtually doubling prices when a premier league club comes calling these days.

Playing the “West Ham way” or in the traditions of Everton is deluded bollocks.
West Ham had their most success when Julian Dicks was smashing anything that moved and Ince snarling and maurauding in the middle.
In the end all clubs want is to win. Arsenal play better football now then when Vierra, Petit and Adams were causing mayhem. Think they wouldn’t roll back the clock?
no they dont play better football now. having solely flair players is not better. arsenal played majestic stuff back then and both viera and petit could pass and even drive forward with ball at feet at times.Playing the “West Ham way” or in the traditions of Everton is deluded bollocks.

Nothing to do with nationality etc. It's just a fashionable trend to bring in foreign coaches - many with pretty ordinary CVs - and expect some miraculous transformation of fortune. West Ham & Everton are two specific cases because their fans have particular associations with the type of football they expect to see (West Ham way etc.) but when it doesn't work they are quick to start looking for another type of coach who will get them out of trouble. West Ham could well have been going down before Moyes came in and got an average squad up the table. His reward is the push.pardew and lambert saved the day.....

but keeping ball on deck is conmsidered pretty and thats what west ham and everton fans want, wether it is in their DNA or traditions means little, the fans are very vocal about what they want.
everton in particular harbour ambitions to break into the elite with their new chairmen and clogger football doesnt get you there in any league really.
i think graham and diego simeone now is a defensive effective style of football that works. as we saw last night in europa final they can hurt you with incisive passing tooWest Ham have the most deluded fans and reputation in the country. The only reason they have this image is that they are hyped up by the London press. If they were a northern club like Blackpool (who had great traditions in the 50’s) no one would look at them twice. Their heroes such as Billy Bonds and Ince were just thugs.
Arsenal? One nil to the Arsenal under George graham? They’d bite their hands off for they now.
But Everton fans accepted (even celebrated ) years of Moyes's football which apparently now is unpalatable to West Ham fans. Everton have a history of playing with a big no9 and getting the ball into him.no they dont play better football now. having solely flair players is not better. arsenal played majestic stuff back then and both viera and petit could pass and even drive forward with ball at feet at times.

I agree but i dont quite get your pointBut Everton fans accepted (even celebrated ) years of Moyes's football which apparently now is unpalatable to West Ham fans. Everton have a history of playing with a big no9 and getting the ball into him.
koeman had Everton playing the football that kept the fans happy in his 1st season then the club sold Lukaku and didn't give him a new striker.
West Ham ended up converting Arnautovic into a striker because they have failed to buy a good one and basically had Payet carrying them until he went last season. Been buying big lump centre-haves for years. Bilic played a lot of his football around this and set-pieces (West Ham fans loved it & him until results dried up)
