Maybe this experience will make those fans who just hurled abuse sit up and think.
If we get back to the Ricoh then maybe those fans will be more supportive ?
Absence makes the heart grow fonder.
I must admit, I grew to really dislike the Ricoh. The whole experience was crap.
And as much as I want this exciting young side to be playing there, I am nervous about the effect it might have on them. If we could push 16k-20k per game then great, however 9k in there and every "FORWARD" or "FFS BAKER" would be heard loud and clear...
We only got 10-11k last season when we were flying under Robins, so really can't see us getting 18-20k. We only managed to break 12k 4 times in the league last season. Our most important league match of the season vs Yeovil only had 11k just days after 30k paid a £5 for the jpt.
Yes we have an exciting young team, but we also have fans that won't go and watch that crap (I.e. League one football) and fans that won't go until sisu leave.

I agree to a point.
However, why was the Yeovil game the most important of our season? Also, that crowd was always going to suffer given that it was 4 days after the Crewe game, particularly with the disappointment people felt after that match.
I'd argue the Shrewsbury game was our most important league game last year. Large-ish crowd, in good form, expecting 3 points. That defeat really took the wind out of our sails imo.
Nobody really knows what the crowds will be when we move back. My personal view is that, for arguments sake (and I don't think it will happen), we were back at christmas and still playing well, the relief at being back home and the novelty of having a successful team (don't forget 43 years without a top 6 finish) would mean crowds of 15K+.
The one thing I am convinced about is that our first game back will attract 25K plus. In other words the same amount of ticket revenue SISU will generate in our next 10 league games at Shitfields.
I disagree Lee, Shrewsbury was always going to be a big gate with it being our only home game of the festive period, yes we lost that game and the following match but then picked up 10 points from 4 games, so was only a blip.
When we played Yeovil we were only 1 point off play offs, that defeat left us 4 points off play offs and we struggled to put another run together.
I really can't see us getting at where near 25k+ for the first game back.

And maybe those who sit near the boo boys will speak up and tell them to support these young lads and not knock their efforts and then their confidence. Some people really need reminding that they should support the team and not decry it, as sometimes happens.
Wouldn't surprise me if we virtually sold out first game back (if we ever get back!) My wife only said the other day 'Make sure you get me a ticket for the 1st game back' and she only goes once every year or so! After that, depends whether we are still pushing for play offs or meandering around mid table. 18k-20k the former, 12k-14k the latter. Whichever, just a tad better than Sixfields!!!
agree with stupot
however first game back would be quite big i think 16-20k
just can see it happening, 2 sides hate each other too much to do a deal.
But we were 1 point from play offs vs Yeovil last season and only got 11k.

Ok, but just say a miracle happened and we got back to the Ricoh for Christmas for the best present we all could wish for (apart from that Ferrari 458 I'm after) and we were 1 point from the play offs and won taking us into the play offs and the momentum built, what effect do you think that would have on attendances ?
I still don't think they will be very high, mainly because away attendances are poor in this league. Agree with cc4l first game back will be 16-20k, certainly not 25k+, then it will drop off to 10-12k on average.
How many ST's do you think they would sell?
A lot more than at Sixfields. I don't think for one minute that we would fill or anywhere near it, but I do think that the fact that we were playing back at the Ricoh would have a positive effect on the attendances for the first few games and if we were to carry on in the same vain as we are now then why wouldn't they raise. I know there are some that won't go because Sisu/Otium are at the helm but didn't some of them stopped going before anyway. So if we were doing well and maintaining that push it would just bring out a lot other fans that were just not coming because of the poor performance on the pitch. With that in mind I would reckon on attendances of 15-18k depending on day/night game and opposition. Then if we were on the march for the play offs we could introduce some sort of stubbs for the play offs incentive which would boost it further.
On a separate note, you mentioned ST's. I wonder what they would charge if we did get back to the Ricoh for them compared to Sixfields and would the Sixfield goers have to pay the difference
