Connor could score a few for them with their able of play. He looked lost at CCFC in truth dropping into midfield, getting out muscled up top. He is a forward that needs a specific system and it was one we do not look like playing anytime soon.

Need Bright and a forward who can score goals and bring others into play and we will be all set.

I'm amazed Barnsley talk so highly of him.
He must have a hell of a good CV.
He was never going be a prolific goal scorer for us

Obviously not saying Robins is going to get a million to spend, far from it but how often to managers say "I have all this money now to go and buy players" if we are trying to bring players in.

If we were trying to buy Walker for 500k for example and they see we have just sold Chaplin so have more that 500k may become 800k if Robins is bragging about having it all to spend

In the NFL they have testing days where the up and coming college kids are given physical tests and all these are put into teams databases and they see who best fits what they think they need (unless an owner decides he wants a particular player for marketing reasons etc). Loads of the top picks fail dismally because it's all based on those physical tests and doesn't take into account personality, how people react under pressure etc.(admittedly some of it can't be known until you get them in but the pressure on their college teams is huge and not far off the pro levels, so it's more how they react to the large sums of money (see Johnny Manziel)). A lot of the top college kids have shit attitudes because they've been idolised and given a free ride so hard work and accountability are totally alien to them.

Although I doubt we've got quite the same system in place over here there will be something similar and if that told them Chaplin would benefit them last year it'll likely still tell them the same this year. One thing I can't quite get is where this thing of Chaplin being a pacy striker comes from? We were told that was what he had last year and Barnsley have said he's one too. But I saw no evidence of it.

Great business.

Didn’t fit into our system and many on here heavily critical of him and we have made a profit, so win all round.

Time to move on.

MR put a lot of faith in him, as did Doyle, just didn't live up to the expectation unfortunately. You can blame systems, fitness, etc. but bottom line he's missed sitters that frankly, someone of his ilk should have put away. Good luck to him, hope he finds his form, but we dont have the luxuary now to keep someone on the books hoping they will deliver, and who wants to leave anyway.

Still unsure personally and didn’t like the shit he got from fans. Everyone expected a McNulty replacement but forget it’s a league up and I don’t think sparky would have had that scoring rate either. Not sure walker is a step up and bright looks out of reach

I'm sure you're joking, but some people really do believe transfer receipts make their way back to SISU.

What are operating costs, £6.5 million a year? So we have to find more than 500K a month to pay salaries and cover costs. We've probably made 500K from season ticket sales so far, so that's one month covered.

I'd be amazed if it didn't happen. Look how many times a good player is suddenly shite and a shite player is suddenly good when sold.

Agreed, there is no way the cash is going back to sisu, it’s covering losses. However, it does minimise what sisu are losing, which in turn means they can hang on for longer.

We all wait and hope that someone comes in for club with a longer term vision/plans (other than battering people in court). If the additional cash holds them back from selling at a sensible price to someone who has got a longer term vision, then in my view they might as well pocket it.

Better than his and this “making a profit” is nonsense. We don’t get a cheque for £1 million and we will still be paying the initial fee for him - we are a player down

So we play Bakayoko and biamou ahead of him whose goal scoring record for us is worse - makes sense

Yes lets ignore Robins and play Chaplin as a lone striker, a position he clearly doesn't suit. Grendel logicagain. Amazed you can get up by yourself let alone have a valid opinion.

Given you seem to thing hiwula is something special as he was a Man City academy player — well let’s leave it there

A few hundred thousand will have no impact on if or when they leave. There seemingly isn’t a finite pot that when it’s gone Sisu bugger off.

Why do you always go back to this? It works both ways...yes it’s unlikely we get a cheque for 1m but exactly as you say - we also wouldn’t have paid out the transfer fee up front either?

I expect all transfer fees in and out are in monthly instalments so for all intents and purposes, it’s the same as getting a cheque in and writing a cheque out isn’t it?

You can do better than that

Well, not going to get us 20 goals each, or possibly even between them.
