Vincenti for DKE, Nazon for McNulty.

Vincenti for DKE and Nazon return to partner Biamou if he returns early enough in the week to take part in training sessions and team briefs. But Nazon to be taken off after 70/75mins as his work rate fades very quickly as he tires only busting into life then as and when he feels the urge after this point and with another tricky away game we need 100% for 96 minutes.

I think a goal will come for him. I didn’t think he was as much a threat yesterday as he had been in his previous two games, but then I don’t think we played our preferred system yesterday; not entirely sure what tactics were or who told us to play how we did.

Actually while watching I thought Vicenti would come on for DKE yesterday. Not moaning about Robins bringing the kids on but Vicenti might have had the nous to find a way through in the second half

Agree, was really surprised with the Shipley introduction. Who's a tiring team going to fear in the last 15 minutes? A giant Vincenti in the box or a lad they've never heard of brought in to ensure the point. Might even have given Biamou or Jones a bit more space as an alternative threat too. Really glad on a individual level that an academy graduate got first team game time but thought it was a very negative substition.

Biamou still looks out of his depth to me, but hopefully he will improve,
Unfortunately we don't have another physical centre forward other than kwami Thomas, so there isn't really any competition, I wouldn't count mcnulty or Beavon as competition as they don't exactly worry the opposition either.
Robbins has recruited well in every area apart from up front (imho)
But we need to address the situation in January if we are going to challenge for automatic promotion.

That's why we are 5th and not top...beavon, McNulty and Biamou are not scoring. If they had 3/4 goals each to their name with our defence we would be top.

Watched the game on sky rerun earlier
I hadn't noticed how many chances fell to Biamou yesterday at the game itself
Strongly suspect he'll get off the mark in the next game or so.

Stokes was their player and the manager didn't fancy him. Thomas has been signed on loan from a club higher than them. For them to sign him and then not play him says something doesn't it ?/

Or are you suggesting we recall Thomas who cant get into the Sutton team for him to replace the Sutton top scorer last season ?

To get 3/4 each they'd need a centre midfield who aren't stood on the toes of the centre backs for 70 minutes a game. It's no coincidence that the players who have scored this season are the 2 that are capable of creating for themselves.

Thomas has already returned following his loan spell. He was always only going short term to cover injuries and get fit.

From the Sutton Website on the 5th

<snip> "Kwame Thomas has returned to Coventry City following his loan spell and we thank him for his time with us covering Ross Lafayette’s and Adam Coombes’ injuries." <snip>

That's a shame. I still had high hopes of Clarrie Bourton coming in from the bench.

I think Biamou will be a key provider of assists, a bit like a Rosario/Roussel. At the moment I would play him alongside Nazon, as he seems the better option

Rosario who had mick Quinn next to him and Roussel Robbie Keane neither of these are as prolific as McNulty and Beavon, he has to be scoring or is pointless as the rest aren't either apart from Nazon. A the moment I would go for Biamou (only because of lack of better options) and Nazon, I would get Thomas into the first team picture and would offer Beavon a free transfer

I expect that it is the manager who tells them how to play!

Ignore the two great corner deliveries from Shipley which nearly led to goal

Overall I agree. Goal scorers need service. However, not picking on the lad because I like him and think he will get better but McNulty has missed about a fair few clear cut chances this season so majority of the time he is getting service.

Doyle’s comments about McNulty being the best finisher at the club are certainly interesting.

In the long run, our dominant defence will pay off more than any 15-25 goal a season striker could.

To be fair to him he won a fair amount of lumped balls to him to try and link up play while beating closely marked by the very big strong classy looking Richards-Everton.
